Who: Yukiya and OPEN
Where: Tribute Tower
When: During the first week of the new Arenas.
What: Yukiya arrives as a new mentor after the Arena has started. He gets accustomed to being back in Tribute Tower and tries to get a hand on how things run now.
Warnings: None yet

The District Suite was painfully silent when Yukiya brought in his things. He took over a room for a mentor and unpacked right away. He had only brought one suitcase up with him, only of the things from District 7. His new clothes were due to arrive later that day.

After everything was settled in, he moved down to the main common areas. Some of the mentors were away, doing work on behalf of their Tributes in the two Arenas, though there were still some here too. There was a group with Stylists and other staff too, all watching the Games as they took a break or ate or did something else to waste time before their next meeting. Yukiya wasn't sure if he was allowed to join them or not. He was a mentor now, but he thought that maybe they wouldn't welcome him within their ranks.

Instead, he sort of stood off to the side nervously and watched the images on the televisions. The desert one was difficult for him to watch, so when it came onto the screen he would look away. It was too much like the Arena he had been in and the memory of it made him feel a little sick.

"Not all of them though, right?" Ayase asked, frowning a bit at the idea of constantly being reminded of someone who controlled you.

"Not quite. Blaine and Prim are all right."

"Prim is Katniss's sister isn't she?"

He nodded. "Yeah, I think so. She's nice."

"Really? I'm glad. Katniss was so brave in protecting her. You knew that had to be because she was special."

"What do you mean?"

"Well... People watched their relatives get Reaped all of the time before and they rarely volunteered like Katniss did."

"She... volunteered?!" His face said it all. Katniss must be crazy. Who'd actually volunteer for something like the Games?!

"Oh. Yes. Because she didn't want Prim to go."

"That's nice." It was. But he was a bit jealous. There'd been no one to volunteer for him.

"So... It makes sense that she'd be nice too. You have to really love someone to do that for them."

"I... guess..." He didn't really know. He'd never had someone like that.

"You like Primrose too, right?"

He nodded. "Yeah, she's..." He didn't know how to describe her. He didn't think he'd ever met anyone like her. "She's different." A good different.

"Different?" Yukiya asked. He pressed a finger against his lower lip as he considered that. "Isn't different usually bad?"

"Maybe." Kevin smiled. "Prim's nice, though. I like her."

"But then why did you call her different? How is she different?" Yukiya asked curiously, not sure what Kevin was meaning by the comment. He also couldn't help but wonder what it was that Kevin valued in the people that he liked.

"She's..." This was so hard to say. He'd never talked about things like this before. "She's not like other people here. She's not like my stepmom."

"Oh... What is your stepmom like?" Yukiya asked, without realizing that might be way too personal.

"Yvette was a bitch," he said, his mouth forming a hard line. He didn't really know how else to describe her. He didn't have the words for it. Yukiya would have to ask more detailed questions if he wanted to know more.
