The Crowning of Albert Wesker

Who| Everyone in the Capitol.
What| The Crowning Ceremony
Where| The Victor's Complex
When| Day of the Crowning
Warnings/Notes| None yet.

The theme of the ceremony is clearly black and red. A crimson carpet stretches out across the room. The long table for feasting seems to be made of a single slab of dark obsidian, something that couldn't possibly be found in this size naturally. The chairs are wrought iron with red cushions, and embers burn under personal barbecues at each seat. Red wine, red juice, slabs of red meat to be cooked (or eaten raw) - the details are all perfected. Even some of the Avoxes have received black tattoos for the occasion, the number '11' permanently marking under their eyes like grotesque twin tears.

For a crowning, the ceremony is rather intimate. Only a handful of guests have been invited: the usual Capitol VIPs, the Mentors of each District, and a few of the stars of the last few Games. Karis Needleteeth, Aunamee, Dr. Alastor Grey, Alpha, Lindsey McDonald and Hyperion Crius each have a seat at the table. A few Peacekeepers sit off to the side, sipping wine. A few of the Mentors are conspicuously missing.

And Wesker's throne sits at the head of the table; it's made of the head of the dragon that destroyed so much of Disneyland and slaughtered so many Tributes. The head has been dried, the tongue replaced with a plush velvet seat and back the color of blood. The eyes have been replaced with glass that stares at each side of the room. The fangs, however, remain intact.

Downstairs, the rest of the Tributes and their Escorts and Stylists can partake in a more Disney-themed affair. Everything is still sleek, and tends to veer more towards Maleficent and Jafar then Cinderella and Ariel, but the punch bowl is Mickey Mouse-shaped. There's a dance floor, and a string quartet, and all sorts of lavish foods on tables with red cloth. It's a night for mingling, at least.

[OOC Note: Part one of this is going up tonight in the first two subthreads. Part two will be edited into the last two subthreads tomorrow evening; you'll see why. Go forth and mingle! Tributes from downstairs can go say hello to the Victor, although they won't get long before the Peacekeepers escort them back down.]

Ian raised his eyebrow, not too sure what to think about Jay. "Don't let them hear you, that will be your next outfit." He said eventually and shrugged, "I look like a tool."

"You look sombre," Jay says. "I guess that's some people's thing, but it's never been mine."

He throws a critical glance over Ian and then adds, quietly, "and you look like less of a tool than our victor, let me tell you that."

"Well difference is, he probably is a tool." Ian said, perhaps unfairly, he'd never even met the guy but anyone who won this... bloodbath against children, some of whom were as young as his little brother did not win his respect in any way.

"Sombre isn't really my thing either," Even to his dads fake funeral he had only worn jeans and a black T shire, "but I've been here two days, I don't think my stylist knew what to do with me."

"You should've helped out," Jay said, raising an eyebrow. "It's more fun that way and you can usually talk your way out of the worse ideas."

He grins. "I thought I hadn't seen you around before! What District are you from, then?"

"I'll bare that in mind." Ian had very little interest in fashion, mostly because he couldn't afford to.

"Six I think, they like attaching numbers to people here, they said I was an eight as well whatever the fuck that means."

"That'd be your score, dearest," Jay says. "How well they think you'll do against other Tributes. I believe it's out of twelve."

He appraises Ian, eyebrow cocked in slight disbelief. An eight, huh?

"I'm a six, personally. I expected lower, to be quite honest."

He raised an eyebrow, honestly what was with this guy and nicknames. "Hey you're half way, that's a pretty decent place to be. Bound to be average right?"

An eight out of twelve, he wasn't sure whether to be flattered or insulted.

Jay snorts, shaking his head.

"There's nothing decent about being average," he says. "Average is boring and boring people don't get to have fun."

There's more to his life philosophy than that, of course -- there's a hefty dose of terror of death there and despair at the fragility of life and beauty -- but it's as much as he's willing to reveal here.

"Not sure I'm liking this places version of fun either. You never know they might let you be."

Doubtful but Ian was trying to stay positive.

Jay shrugs.

"They let me drink, darling," he says. "That's enough for now."

Lord, but he wants to go home.

"Well that's something." Ian took a mouthful of his own drink, "Wish I could get something to smoke too."

"Venture outside sometime," Jay says, raising an eyebrow. "They've mastered commerce here, darling. They have cigarettes for sale."

He realises he's being a trifle mean, but it's the sort of mean that gives him a thrill. He does love needling people and getting a reaction out of them.

The response he got was Ian's middle finger, and a smirk. "Pretty sure they told me I'd get money for killing people," one hundred Assi per kill or something.

"I'm not so desperate I'm gonna kill some kid for a pack of smokes."
