The Crowning of Albert Wesker
Who| Everyone in the Capitol.
What| The Crowning Ceremony
Where| The Victor's Complex
When| Day of the Crowning
Warnings/Notes| None yet.
The theme of the ceremony is clearly black and red. A crimson carpet stretches out across the room. The long table for feasting seems to be made of a single slab of dark obsidian, something that couldn't possibly be found in this size naturally. The chairs are wrought iron with red cushions, and embers burn under personal barbecues at each seat. Red wine, red juice, slabs of red meat to be cooked (or eaten raw) - the details are all perfected. Even some of the Avoxes have received black tattoos for the occasion, the number '11' permanently marking under their eyes like grotesque twin tears.
For a crowning, the ceremony is rather intimate. Only a handful of guests have been invited: the usual Capitol VIPs, the Mentors of each District, and a few of the stars of the last few Games. Karis Needleteeth, Aunamee, Dr. Alastor Grey, Alpha, Lindsey McDonald and Hyperion Crius each have a seat at the table. A few Peacekeepers sit off to the side, sipping wine. A few of the Mentors are conspicuously missing.
And Wesker's throne sits at the head of the table; it's made of the head of the dragon that destroyed so much of Disneyland and slaughtered so many Tributes. The head has been dried, the tongue replaced with a plush velvet seat and back the color of blood. The eyes have been replaced with glass that stares at each side of the room. The fangs, however, remain intact.
Downstairs, the rest of the Tributes and their Escorts and Stylists can partake in a more Disney-themed affair. Everything is still sleek, and tends to veer more towards Maleficent and Jafar then Cinderella and Ariel, but the punch bowl is Mickey Mouse-shaped. There's a dance floor, and a string quartet, and all sorts of lavish foods on tables with red cloth. It's a night for mingling, at least.
[OOC Note: Part one of this is going up tonight in the first two subthreads. Part two will be edited into the last two subthreads tomorrow evening; you'll see why. Go forth and mingle! Tributes from downstairs can go say hello to the Victor, although they won't get long before the Peacekeepers escort them back down.]

Re: DOWNSTAIRS
She wandered through the ballroom, peering through the black spikes of her metal head piece, looking for friends and her tributes... Jack. And anyone else who was stood still long enough for her to have a natter to.
There was just one draw back to her dress - which Calico realised fairly soon into the party. With her sleeves turning into gloves and her being sewn into the thing - how was she supposed to use the restroom? Nice going, Cal. No wonder the bloody stylists had smirked.

He's dressed simply a poet's shirt under a leather jerkin, loose pants tucked into tall boots, he's still trying to figure out if they dressed him as a fairy tale woodsman, or rogue. But hey GREEN!
no subject
She's obviously pleased with herself, besides the damn gloves.
"You look..." She wrinkles her nose. "I told you to come to me, love. You look like one of them fools in Evie's books."
Though, granted, she's been around for all of three days.
"So what's Jack been on to yer abou'? Has he been an idio'?"
now with less player derp
Chris laughs. "I've managed to be avoiding him. Seriously, I'm worried if he does say something my fist will find his face." Jack to Chris was just a regular asshole, he'd play nice with him for now, but when things changed he'd make sure Jack knew it.
Re: now with less player derp
Calico laughs heartily at Chris's comments.
"You're roght, you know? An' I tell 'im that he's an arrogant jerk - but there ain't no telling some people. What I do, I used to leave my sewing needles in his room. Stabby stabby stab! Now - well, I'm allowed to shout at him!"
Re: now with less player derp
"See, I knew there was a reason I liked you." He smiled. "And really if he gets in my face I'll yell if I want. He's not as bad as some of the drill instructors I had back in boot camp. They'd break him with a stare."
Re: now with less player derp
She purses her lips. "You know, before, there was only one mentor - me. An' then - well. Jack's here too. Jus' - jus' don't hit him really, or you'll be in trouble. Punch a pillow or go to the gym. Actually -"
She looks down at his body. "Have you been trainin' properly, love?"
Re: now with less player derp
"Yeah don't worry I'm probably in better shape than I was in the Air Force."
Re: now with less player derp
Though perhaps he wouldn't recognise the young Calico. She had been skinny back then, properly skinny. And she'd had black hair, masses of it, done up in three fat braids round her head. And they'd worn caps and t-shirts and cullottes - all together, a most unfashionable arena.
"Jack... well, he IS bloody dangerous." She laughs suddenly though. "But you're right. He would sound like a bloody girl."
She looks approvingly at Chris's body, unabashed to be oogling him openly. He was pretty, after all.
"Looking good, love." There was a slightly devilish smirk in her expression now.
Re: now with less player derp
"See, I know the type, they're usually the ones I'd have to deal with if we were helping the cops out. Dangerous, but not that smart when it comes to getting into trouble."
Hey he had no problem with her looking, Cal was a friend.
Re: now with less player derp
"I dunno. We both have big gobs on us - Jack says the right things to the Capitol - and I try to say it right to you lot. Jack's just a big head, love, and the sooner you accept it, the sooner yoou'll be able to ignore him."
Re: now with less player derp
"Yeah, I"m just waiting for the urge to punch him in the face subsides. Then we'll see if I ignore him or take him out drinking."
Re: now with less player derp
She shook her head. "He's like the annoyin' little brother you never wanted. We don't get on - but I'd help him out if he asked and I like to think he'd have me back if he knew I were in trouble."
IF he knew. Jack was so far up the Capitol's backside, he swallowed all the lies, hook, line and sinker.
Re: now with less player derp
"Well as long as I'm in the capitol I have your back too Cal, probably do a better job of it where it counts."
Re: DOWNSTAIRS
He spotted Calico on his way back up. She looked...slightly uncomfortable.
"Are you ok?"
Re: DOWNSTAIRS
She fidgeted again. Damn dress. "Just didn't think this one through, did I? No wonder she were bloody grinnin'. I swear, it's the only time the woman's ever actually smiled at me."
Cal is, of course, referring to the stylist for District 8.
"The hell are you wearin'? Did they dress you in this? Did they not get the memo of what the victor was wearin'?"
Re: DOWNSTAIRS
Another person came up asking for his autograph. When he signed it, there was surprised 'oh' followed by a sheepish retreat from the celebrity seeker.
"I'm sure they got the memo. That was probably the point." At this, Jack crossed his arms. "Of course, the eye dye was maybe a bit over the top if you ask me. But I have no real reason to complain!"
Re: DOWNSTAIRS
"You're such a tool. You're gettin' these idiots all excited an' they ain't here for you."
Why does Jack ALWAYS have to steal the limelight? He's such a douche.
"I hope that bloody dye is stingin'"
Re: DOWNSTAIRS
Re: DOWNSTAIRS
"Next time, come to me, okay? I'll dress you right."
She'll dress him as a clown and teach him a good, proper lesson.
