Who| Phone Guy and Open!
What| Mentoring things and getting the shock of his life: Jeremy Fitzgerald has been reaped
Where| Various places in the Capitol
When| Week 2
Warnings/Notes| FNAF events are discussed, specifically the Bite of 87.
A - Tribute Center - Early Week 2
Phil was doing his best to keep up with his four tributes, calling up on sponsors to make sure they saw how well they were surviving. They're surefire winners, they are able to adapt and do well. He hates treating them like they were merchandise but if it got them help, then he will do whatever it takes. He plays up the grieving lover card well, and he mentions that he's not quite ready to move on from Venus, but he reminds the people to keep Maglev safe, that someone awaits for her return. He also sneaks a few words of encouragement about Rotor, making sure that the boy's safe from harm. When told he can't do that, Phil puts up the inexperienced mentor act, "Oh! I'm sorry about that!"
It's not until one of the reporter mentions a name he hoped he'd never hear in Panem that Phone Guy's blood runs cold since the Reaping of the children: Jeremy Fitzgerald. A name that he referenced with respect and great loss…a man Phil held dear even if he never saw his face up until the Bite of 87. He only got a glimpse of that face before Mangle swung from the vent and-
Phil remembered how loudly he could scream as he rushed to the guard's aid, the checkered floor and his uniform became soaked in Fitzgerald's blood and grey matter. The last time Phil saw Jeremy, the man was barely functional and now, there he was, up on the screen, fighting for District 1.
He can't… he can't be here…oh God, he's here… Freddy Fazbear's murderous legacy would never let Phone Guy go, animatronic fingers gripping his throat tight as the noose Wednesday Addams hung him back in Arena 14. Jeremy was reaped for Panem's entertainment and Gray can't breathe.
His eyes roll back as he collapses from the sheer shock.
B- The Capitol and Training Center - Rest of the Week
There's a fire burning in Phil's eyes after seeing Fitzgerald's reaping: this was just adding fuel to the resentment he was developing towards the Capitol. They got rid of Linden, reaped an innocent man from his world, slaughtered Nux in the Arena, and watching Karkat avenge Maglev's death…he wants to see Snow burn for forcing the children back into the Arena, even one of the Capitol's own as he watched Aurelia struggle to survive.
But he couldn’t let anyone see this: he couldn't let his Tributes down and join Linden in the dirt. He stood a little straighter, drank a little less at the events he'd be invited in. He had to put on the airs of both a Mentor and even a bit of District pride when he spoke. Night clubs would be frequented, as Phillip began to hold his ground in conversations…
But the training center is a whole other ball park. Both Phil and Foxy increase in the aggression towards their targets. Phone Guy isn't attempting as many incapacitating blows as much as he tries landing killing blows. He needs to keep up because when Jeremy comes back, he needs to be able to teach him. Anything to not feel like the failure he believes himself to be.
