reach down your hand in your pocket

Who| Blaine and OPEN
What| Back in Tribute Tower
Where| Common Areas
When| After his death.
Warnings/Notes| Blaine is looking for Kurt in particular, but he won't be opposed to stopping to talk to friends. He's just going to be a little antsy until he sees Kurt.

It was tempting to stay in his room and never, ever leave. After what had happened in the Arena he was almost hoping for that option, but he couldn't. He couldn't just hide without knowing what Kurt was doing. If he was back...

He had to be. If Kurt had turned out to be one of the few who never returned Blaine didn't know what he'd do with himself. That was why when he finally got up and got dressed went straight down to look through common areas of the Tower, searching for Kurt.

He still didn't look completely okay. While his clothes were put together and his hair was perfect, there was something a little wild in his eyes. The impulsiveness that drove him to Alpha's line of sight still lingered in the back of his mind. The sense of having nothing at all to lose had settled in him after watching Kurt die and he wasn't sure when it would start to fade.

Momoko wrinkled her nose. "Hairspray's always been enough for me." And too much gel put into mind that unicorn hair man Ichigo had fallen for, although she wasn't sure there was enough gel in the world to keep that hairstyle in place. "Does it melt in the sun? Or do you have one of these?" She held up her parasol. She'd been intending to take a walk, something to do while there was a lull in her Mentoring responsibilities.

"Dripping," repeated Momoko distastefully. "I should hope so." A thought occurred to her. "Theme parks? Like the last Arena? That's a coincidence."

"Yes, obviously. They likes things to be broken in the Arena."
cowardfacinghappiness: Momoko looking bewildered and scared. (Um.)

"Is it? I haven't been to either. I haven't been to any amusement park, actually." Not even this one, thankfully.
cowardfacinghappiness: Momoko looking to the side, confused and thoughtful. (Hmmm.)

"Oh? I guess I wouldn't like either then. I don't like roller coasters," flying through the air after crashing her first attempt at riding a motorbike was more than enough for a lifetime, "And a family place would be too much work, trying to keep track of them." She shrugged. "I guess you liked them though? If you kept working at them."

"Why you would love something that was humiliating?" Momoko asked, nose wrinkling. Not that she had experienced much embarrassment before arriving in the Capitol. "I didn't do anything, I just went to school and tricked my dad into giving me money. Well," she corrected herself, "I did when he had money. He was in the Yakuza, but he got kicked out, and then he sold knock-off designer clothes, but then those designers came after him, so we were hiding out at my grandmother's in the country and I sold some of his leftover knockoffs online to pay for my own things."

She shrugged. "It wasn't a job and I didn't get very much, but it was nice to get money without having to pretend my classmate had been kidnapped and needed a ransom." She added, almost absently, "I almost had a real job, though."

"Embroidery," she said, swinging the parasol absently. Most people didn't know what to say about her family, unless they were trying to arrest her father or something, so she didn't think anything of it. "My favorite store, Baby had a dress come in completely plain and they wanted me to fix it." She pressed her hands to her chest with a dreamy sigh. "He asked me to fix it, Baby's head designer himself."

"In my free time," she said, brought abruptly back to earth. There was no Baby here, and no brilliant designer offering her work. "There's not much point in working when I don't have to, all they want me to do is talk to Sponsors and look cute at parties. They say we used to need 'talents' but with the Games going on all the time they don't really bother anymore."

"Ugh, no," she grimaced. "Not them. They're all hopeless. Anyway, they save the 'important' jobs like that for their precious Citizens, I think. Would want some foreigner taking their jobs, after all. Why, would you want to work with them?"
cowardfacinghappiness: Momoko smiling. (Cheeeese)

"Is he?" said Momoko, with some interest. "He'd probably hate it here then. What kind of fashion does he do?"

"Hm. Sounds interesting," she said, with some doubt in her voice. "Wouldn't it be easier to make something beautiful into something more beautiful? Not trying to make something into what it's not?"
