Prim's eyes seemed permanently widened as she walked. She'd never seen so much open space indoors before. Or such luxury. If she could forget that it was all there in the name of death, she could probably find it beautiful.

With her sister there, there was a part of Prim that almost could forget. But she'd seen too much to not remember. It was always there, in the back of her mind.

She did her best to repress a shudder as she drank in the sights.

[inciting]

Katniss's body language could not have said 'stay away' clearer if she tried. She had lead Prim through the city, and although some obtuse Capitol citizens had tried to get their attention anyway, Katniss had none of it.

She didn't want Prim here, she wanted her at home, away from all this. And she was going to do her best to keep her away from them as she could.

When they were finally up to the suite she relaxed, incrementally.

"This is District 12's suite, Prim." And there was a brief flicker of...shame? Anger? That what was in her could be sold off to feed 12 for another year. Still, she softened her voice, forcing herself to focus on the good aspect of Prim being here. Because she had missed her so incredibly much. "This is where we're staying."

"All this?" she asked, her eyes wide. She tried to imagine how many people could fit in there - and to remember how many were living there... Her attention quickly came back to focus on Katniss, though. If she's noticed the emotions flickering across her sister's face, she only responded with a smile.

As nervous as this place made her, Katniss's presence comforted her. She knows that the Capitol couldn't have been trying to do anyone a favor when they brought here. Maybe they hope to use her in some way. She won't let them.

She gives Katniss a hug. "It's big..."

[inciting]

"Yeah. And anything you need, they'll provide it..."

Katniss wasn't sure if Prim had her own room, or not. But until then she would keep Prim with her.

"You can just ask for it over by this things..." She trailed off, unsure what else to show her. Before finally just wrapping her arms around her and pulling her close.

[andproper]

"I don't need anything, Katniss," she promised, allowing herself to be enfolded. If it was at all uncomfortable in the tight embrace, she didn't say so. It was too nice to see her sister again after all this time.

"...What about the other tributes?" she asked, after a moment.

[inciting]

"Take what you want. You might as well."

"They're here. They all have their own rooms. There's two, around your age...a girl named Sandy and a girl named Pruna..."

At least Prim would be alone. Though Pruna was stretching the 'around your age' part of that. Still, she'd rather Prim spend time with them then pretty much anyone else on the floor.

"...They're in the arena, aren't they?" she said that softly, trying not to let too much emotion into her voice. She knows this can't be easy for her sister.

Darius was ever a presence around District Twelve's suite, along with Lavinia. He was just coming out of one of the tributes' rooms when he saw Primrose, her face familiar in that aching way that any face from Twelve would be. He'd only ever traded a handful of words with her, out on the streets, but he knew who she was. He stopped still, staring.

She recognized him. It was pretty hard not too - she had seen him so many times, after all...

"Darius?" she asked, voice soft - clearly surprised. It was true she had't seen him in quite a while...

[peacekeeperavox]

With a shallow bow of greeting, he gave her a small, strained smile, one that did nothing to cover the fear in his eyes. And was nothing like the soldier she'd known. Why was she here?

[andproper]

Prim was a little worried about that, herself. Whatever they wanted from her, it couldn't be good.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

[peacekeeperavox]

He paled when he realized that she didn't know. That no one had told her what he was now, probably not even what an Avox was. She expected Darius, the Peacekeeper, and he was gone. More than gone. Anxiously, he looked up and down the corridor, almost hoping for a witness to come and inform her.

"What is it?" she asked, watching him with worry. It was quite clear that something was different, but... Why wasn't he talking to her? What ahd they done?

[peacekeeperavox]

He swallowed, pressing his mouth shut, and turned away, heading quickly for the nearest room where he heard voices. If she didn't follow, he could find something to do there. If she did...

Well then, someone could explain.

[andproper]

She had to follow, didn't she? She wanted to find out what was wrong, after all... and she trusted him. Sort of. Kind of.

More than almost anyone else's she'd seen.

[setfires]

Cinna looked relieved when he saw her in person. "Hello Primrose. I'm glad to see you made it safely. Not that I think Katniss would allow anything to happen to you."

[andproper]

"She's very protective," Prim admitted, aware that the capitol might be listening. "I don't think they told her I was coming."

[setfires]

"It was a surprise for most of us," Cinna admitted. "You're here now though, where she and I can keep an eye on you."


"How are you feeling?" He's aware she can't be completely honest, but her reaction could mean a lot of different things.

[andproper]

Prim realizes it, too - she's not dumb. She knows that she was brought here for a reason.

"It's nice to be near Katniss." A guarded response.

[setfires]

He nods at that. "I know what you mean," he replied honestly. "She inspires the best in many people."

[andproper]

"She's always like that..." Prim doesn't think she realizes it, though.

[setfires]

"That makes it even more of a pleasure to meet the one who inspires her."

[andproper]

She starts to protest, but stops, biting her lip. "I don't think Katniss would put it that way..."
