Oh, this is the night and the heavens are right on this lovely Bella Notte
Who| Everyone who signed up for blind dating!
What| An evening of romance, or disaster, take your pick.
Where| The Swift Cut restaurant
When| 16th June
Warnings/Notes| The course of true love never did run smooth. Remember that if your character was not rolled in arena but you signed up for them to be here, you will need to mark their death on fatality reporting.
The atmosphere at the Swift Cut this evening is bustling. It's clear from the moment one enters the restaurant that they have pulled all the stops out for this televised extravaganza.
Every fire is lit and the air is filled with the scent of the roasting meat on spits over the flames; boar, beef, pork, venison and more. Pots bubble with the smell of hot stew, vegetables are being roasted in ovens and from giant casks around the room beer is being drawn. The staff are in full 'barbarian' getup, consisting of skimpy furs on both the male and the female servers but luckily for you they don't seem to expect a similar dress code from their guests.
Tribute's stylists may have had other ideas, of course.
The giant room has been clearly divided. Tribute's will find themselves directed to one side while trueborn citizens of Panem and petitioned out individuals are brought to the other. It is left up to them to find their table with the number they will be handed upon entering the restaurant. Whether they are the first to arrive at their table is a matter of chance but they can be sure that a cameraman will always be there to capture the moment of realisation on both participants faces when they realise who their date is.
Once everyone is seated the music will begin the play. Minstrels strum lutes and harps, their voices filling the air softly with traditional medieval ballads. There is a space set aside for dancing if anyone is in the mood.
Throughout the evening, and certainly at the end, Tribute's and Capitolites will find themselves sporadically approached by the show host to be asked questions about how they feel the evening is going. It's up to them how honestly they answer, though they should remember the camera's are always watching.

"Well, that sounds like a story." He pauses. "Or some strange domestic that had to have a report filled out." it's said dismissively and sounds more like he's saying this to himself than for James to hear.
Though when his question is answered he grins.
"More than just that." He looks up at the server and with a casual tone he orders. "Sex on the beach for my date here, highball, don't skimp either. And a dry Martini." The server nods and leaves as the professionally as he can. Tony drums his fingers on the table momentarily.
"So." He starts. "Kirk or Picard? Your answer will tell me if this is going to have a second date." He smirks sarcastically.

"I thought people stopped making that drink after the eighties," James grinned for a bit, "And I want to say Kirk. You really can't go wrong with ham. Picard's pretty good but come on." Little bits of the clerk's old self peeked out, Mary wasn't much of a sci-fi fan but she would watch movies with her husband on those lazy Saturday afternoons.

He doesn't linger on it, after all he knows that people die all the time, he's seen them die in front of him, he's killed people himself and his parents died on him so death isn't really something he lingers on.... Too much.
"Well. Looks like there might not be a second date. Ham is good but Picard was a more interesting Captain. You have to be dealing with Q." Then he shakes his head. "Oh people still order it, they just go by the ingredients now. Apparently saying 'vodka orange' is more interesting than 'screwdriver' to some lonely lonely people." Tony looks almost like he's lamenting the fact that those hard earned names are barely used anymore.

"That's cumbersome then...some of these are a lot of ingredients. I'll take Sex on the Beach then," There's something nagging at his brain though, something that he heard while getting his first taste. "You've been here a while right?"
no subject
"Tapes? Tapes....Wow. And here I though Steve was bad."
Not that Steve was really all that bad with current technologies.
He nods in agreement that the names were easier than just labeling what was in them, then pauses to reflect for a moment.
"A year and a month. So yeah, a little while."

As soon as Tony lets him know how long he's been there, the clerk sighed out and drank from his glass. "Well, how close are you with some of the people here?" Sunderland was blissfully unaware of this world but if anyone would know anything about strange Capitolite behavior, it would be his date. "You're a Mentor, you've probably got connections here and there."
no subject
"The only connection I really have is with a drag queen stylist." He shrugs casually. "I don't play well with Governmental bodies, so I haven't really made friends with the staff."
no subject
“What do you know about energy corruption?” he asked in a whisper after their meals arrived, “I just heard someone talking about that and something about a powder keg.” He didn’t know what to think but he could at least tell someone who knows what they were doing.
