[open] making today a perfect day (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

Who| Anna and YOU!
What| General merrymaking, flower crown distribution, and probably skipping.
Where| All over the Tribute center!
When| Post-Arena, pre-Crowning
Warnings/Notes| Excessive...cheer???

It's been a few weeks since Anna came out of the Arena, and as such she's managed to dispel all of her gloom and moping by the time the finale comes around and the Victor is announced. She's overjoyed that one of her friends will be crowned this time, and for the princess, it's just plain been awhile since she's had a few nice things going on in her life, so she decides to give in to a little merrymaking.

The tension she still holds with a few of her friends aside, Anna's got a few good reasons to celebrate--even if she's had some awkward moments and slip-ups, and there are an uncomfortable amount of people wearing Commemorative T-Shirts featuring a very close-up rendering of her and Bro kissing--so she turns to one of her favorite hobbies: making flower crowns.

Normally, she does this kind of thing in her room, but this time, she decides to take it to a new level. For the first couple of days, you can find her spread out on her stomach on the floor of the District 4 commons, flowers of all sizes, shapes and colors blanketing the floor, making crown after crown. She spends quite a bit of the time she's working humming to herself, occasionally breaking out into song when she feels particularly happy, and she's happy to take requests. But by the third day, she decides that it's not enough to simply decorate her District-mates, and takes the whole operation down to the lobby, where she settles in on the rug by the hearth and sets to work, turning out lovely crowns of roses and daisies, daffodils and asters, and even some exotic flowers whose names she doesn't know, just that they're lovely and fragrant and people should have a chance to appreciate them.

And when she's exhausted her supply, she'll spend the next couple of days sashaying about and distributing them. Many of them go to her friends and loved ones, but she also takes care to hand them around to perfect strangers, too--who doesn't need a dose of good cheer, after all!

"Can I at least make it Miss Anna? My momma woul' have my hide if I didn't show royalty due respect."

Not that he'd be able to show his mother this since, you know, different worlds and such.

"Is there anythin' I can do to help ya? I'm no good with crafts, but I can follow instructions an' stuff," he was quick to offer.

"Will do then!" Ellis still saluted Anna as he would someone of a higher rank and got to work.

"Where'd ya git all these? I thought we couldn't touch the greenery outside," he did his best to sort each flower and not manhandle them. These were not tools at the shop nor were they guns, they were formerly living flowers. Do flowers count as living things if they've been snipped to be made into crowns? He'd think about it as he worked in getting the reds from the pinks.

"Well shi-" ELLIS, "Shoot...Nick must be loaded then!" he exclaimed for a moment, then realized that maybe Anna was part of the 'Hate Nick' brigade. The man had done some spectacular if...depressing work to watch. Time to focus on the flowers, yes? Yes.

"That's a mighty sweet way to give back, Miss Anna. You're the real deal princess huh?"

That earned Anna a laugh, "Well, in tha' case, I'mma be as uncensored as possible." Formal permission hasn't stopped Ellis before but he made an exception here. He did roll his eyes at the mention of Nick being loaded. "Fuckin' diva of a man," See? "Finally gets all the money he could want and he's being bitter because he's in second place."

And yet, El was saddened, at least in private, that Nick made it so far, and got offed so unceremoniously. "We used to joke around tha' we were the Horsemen of the Zombie Apocalypse, so he's gonna be bitch an' moan."

An idea came to mind as he watched Anna worked. A cute and hilarious idea, one Nick would murder him for. "Can ya teach me?"

Ellis makes an 'ergh' sound when Anna tells her about the noose, "Tha' ain't a pleasant way to go, even by Arena standards." Granted those standards are basically get shanked, shot, or mauled by the Arena hazards but hey, it's his first time discussing death with someone that has been in the District 4 suite.

The grin becomes that much brighter when Anna agrees, "Hot damn! I'm gonna make some for my friends!" Garrett might be getting one too, just to fuck with the thief. Maybe a few others, he was getting into the spirit Anna was creating. "This is nice!"

As he fumbled around with the flowers, maybe making a few cuts too long and occasionally making the flowers droopy, Ellis found himself having fun with this. It'd been too long since he worked with his hands in any way that wasn't killing.

His chain of daisies...looks interesting and may have the last on fall on the floor but he's proud of it for being his first time, "Shoot, you got this down pat! Betcha you did this a lot back home, huh Miss Anna?"

For a moment, her lack of criticism was strange for a man used to Nick's sardonic shots or Coach's reprimands. He stopped for a moment and he blinked, "Seein' ya so happy, it's worked wonders for ya then."

He wasn't quite focused in the present, reliving a memory from home. The Screaming Oaks Arcade was still operational, and Ellis had strayed for the group to make his friends some snacks, maybe even get them a trinket or two. Too bad there was a Boomer in one of the pretzel booths.

"Heh, I didn't think I'd be this relaxed in a long time," he whispered as he refined his chains.
