Parker's standing on the ledge: well, as close to the ledge as she can due to that stupid force field. Likely, as others did before her, she's considering a way down. No, Parker isn't suicidal, but more scaling off / jumping off / flying off buildings is something of a specialty for her.

She's in deep concentration. It doesn't mean she won't know when someone's coming up on her, but still, doing the mental calculations as to what would be needed if she could get around the force field, is important business.

"For most of my life. Recently I took the surname 'Prince', to make things simpler. Is Parker your name? Your only name?"

"Diana Prince," Parker's eyes look off to the side, as if she's trying to read something in the back of her brain. It's a name she knows, but why would she know it? Usually, names never matter to her.

"Just Parker." It's been just Parker for so long that whatever other name she may have had, doesn't matter. Names rarely do.

"That's right," Diana confirmed. "My friend helped pick it out, I think he thought it was funny."

"You picked your own name?" Wait, in a way she did that too.

It's the full name that has Parker thinking, "Do you know Hardison?" She's associating the name with him, somehow. Excuse Parker for looking suspicious. She doesn't deal well when thinking about Hardison and other women. She has issues.

"With help," she said, nodding. "I felt it was time for a change." And a secret identity, which didn't really work out since she was apparently incapable of fooling anyone for an extended period of time.

"Hardison? I don't believe so, the name isn't familiar to me."

"You sure?" If she looks a little strike>jealous colder, it's because she isn't really comfortable with feelings.

"He's talked about you. Diana Prince. Thinks you're hot." In her mind, she starts replaying a conversation she once had with him. There's a gap in her talking as it runs through to the end.

"WONDER WOMAN!" Parker sounds relieved because comic book characters aren't a threat, except. "But you're real."

"I was last time I checked," she said, raising her eyebrows. "You've heard of me?" She tactfully avoided the 'thinks you're hot' comment.

"I have. Hardison's read all about you."

Parker looks Diana over, top to toe, "you are hot."

Parker lacks tact.

"I guess that means we're from the same place," she said, assuming that this Hardison person has read about her in articles, perhaps even read her book. "The same universe, I mean."

Diana blinked. This was hardly the first time her appearance had been commented on, even so bluntly and to her face, but it was rarely so...matter-of-fact. "That's--thank you?"

"You're in all his books. Sometimes, you look different, and he complains about art." As it's not art, in Parker's mind, that would make millions on the black market, it doesn't interest her.

All that affability Parker's shown previously, disappears for half a second, "If he comes here, don't talk to him."

That might've sounded a little threatening. Parker gets that way over Hardison.

"All of his books?" she repeated. "Do you mean, he's read my book? Or books about me?" Those tended to be...inaccurate at best.

Diana tilted her head curiously, recognizing the threat though not, in fact, feeling threatened. "Shouldn't who he talks to be his choice?" she couldn't help but ask.

"Books about you. Lots of them. Sometimes you're drawn differently."

See, there are very few things Parker would genuinely threaten someone over and she's annoyed the other woman didn't get it. "No. Yes. No. Just don't."

Feelings are hard. They are even harder when one is Parker.

"Drawn?" said Diana, brow furrowed, trying to think what books she could be talking about.

She hesitated, then ventured cautiously, "Can I ask why?"

"Yeah. Comic books. They talk all about you."

Parker's lips all but disappear as she chews on them. She's going to give a rare answer, an honest one.

"I don't like it." Wait, that sounds bad. "He knows that." That sounds better, doesn't it?

"Oh, comic books!" That made mores sense. Perhaps, she thought, thinking of the unfortunate Superboy-Prime, they weren't from the same universe after all. Assuming that's the kind Parker meant, and not the...other kind Diana tactfully ignored the existence of.

"If he doesn't wish to talk to me, I won't force a conversation on him, I promise," she said, hoping she sounded reasonable, and not like she was talking to a skittish animal. This was not, sadly enough, the first time she'd been warned off someone's partner. Assuming they were romantic partners. "But I hope you realize I would never do anything to harm your relationship."

This is Wonder Woman, and if she's learned anything from Hardison, it's that Wonder Woman is a trustworthy character.

Even if she is super crazy hot.

SUPER CRAZY HOT.

Parker takes a second to debate between the hotness and the trustworthiness. Wonder Woman should be grateful her reputation precedes her.

"If you promise, I'll believe it. You're a good person."

She couldn't help a small smile at that, pleased, if surprised. "That's--thank you." She held out a hand, feeling that making things official wouldn't hurt, at least. "And I do. I promise not do anything that would harm the relationship between you and this Hardison."

Parker reaches out, cautiously, to take the offered hand. Her grip's going to be the solid one of a person who hangs off of buildings for a living.

"Agreed." Not exactly the appropriate response, agreeing the other person won't cause problems, but Parker's smiling, so all is safe.

"I'm glad that's settled," said Diana, her grip firm and calloused, an experienced warrior's hands. She hesitated slightly, not sure if this was the best subject to continue or not, but took a chance. It was hard to resist the urge to reach out to a fellow captive, however strange. "He seems important to you. You must miss him."

Parker can appreciate warrior's hands. They mean the owner isn't dependent on anyone.

See, feelings are not Parker's forte, so she's going to go with the obvious, "Don't want him here."

"I bet," Diana said, her smile soft. "It's difficult, when you want to be with someone, but you also want them as far away from where you are as possible."

"Yes!" Parker says it rather excitedly. "Exactly that!"

Careful, Diana, Parker needs an emotions translator and Sophie isn't around.

"I feel the same about my friends," said Diana, blinking a little at Parker's exuberance. "I would never want them here, but I can't help thinking it would be nice to have them at my back."

It's rare for someone to truly understand what Parker is saying, unless it's one of her crew. "Yeah. Remind me I'm not alone."

It took four years, but Haridson finally got that message through to her.

Diana's expression softened. "You're not alone right now, for whatever it's worth. We're in this together, and together we'll get back to our homes, and it won't even be an issue." A bold promise, but that was kind of her thing.
