Staffer's Retreat
WHO| Every Escort, Stylist and Mentor. Any Capitolites or Peacekeepers who might have reason to oversee or visit.
WHAT| A professional retreat for the overworked, underpaid, and super underappreciated Tribute Care Teams.
WHERE| A chalet in District One, easily accessible by train.
WHEN| Before the next death roll.
WARNINGS| Typical Capitolites being entitled asshats.
NOTES| I've put up some subthreads for various activities, if you want to add more just do so under the appropriate day subheader!
Staffer's Retreat. Mandatory. The teams for each District are given a handful of days to prepare for the weekend, which, they're told, is going to be scheduled for a weekend with no big shake-ups in the Arena and perfect weather for outdoor activities. On Friday morning, they're taken by train to a small chalet tucked into a mountainside. A few inches of snow covers the ground but the sky is clear, reflected in the beautiful lake at the base of the mountain.
Until Sunday evening, their days will be packed with "professional development". The schedule looks something like this:
Friday:
Icebreakers
Trust Falls
Hypothetical Scenarios: How to Be the First Person Chosen for a Bomb Shelter
Three-Legged Race
Self-Care Hour: Mandatory Yoga
Dinner
Breaking Down Stereotypes Workshop
Saturday:
Mandatory Mentor Group Therapy: PTSD is Not An Excuse
Mandatory Escort/Stylist Workshop: Building Trust with Your Tributes
Mandatory Sexual Harassment Training: Focus on Tribute/Mentor and Tribute/Escort Relationships
Lunch
Capture-the-Flag
Group Lego-Building
Dinner
12am Karaoke
Sunday:
5:30am Continental Breakfast
Compliment Circle
Journal Hour
Farewells

Just how much of it was honey, he wondered? It was a credit to her that he truly couldn't tell without more context. She was either very talented, or very well trained... Or she meant it, which was just delightful.
"I'm afraid I don't particularly know Mr. Cora," Wesker began when the attention shifted to him. Coolly, he sat beneath the lights, their eyes, as they swiveled toward him, appearing hardly even to breathe as he spoke. "It doesn't seem the Capitol has had time yet to catalog trainers as handily as they have victors, but I'm told his regimen is quite impressive. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before District 2 sees results."
The host blinks, her smile flickering around the edges like a dying bulb, but gamely she carries on, quickly pulling the next name.
"...Leonidas, then, let's discuss Jolie. What do you like most about her?"
no subject
Looking at Jolie, Leo took the time to study her and her demeanor. "I believe her work and determination on her Tributes is most impressive, as we saw in the Crowning. She takes great care in making sure her mark is left for people to remember, but takes no crap from anyone if it needs to be said. I look forward to what she will make in the next event."
He even cocked his head, his expression loosening up and relax, easing the host's nerves, "So Jolie, your thoughts on Calendius?"
no subject
She tilts her chin up proudly and basks in the praise Leo gives her before she offers him a very exaggerated wink in exchange for his flattery. "Thanks, kid. You're a charmer, so observant too." She says airily, flicking her long wig over her shoulder as she fixes a smile on Calendius.
"Our dear Calendius, where would Two be without him? I gotta say, it's nice to see an Escort who doesn't show up for parties or free food." She pulls a face and pulls at her collar so they can all think about the Escorts that were fired this year. "You are so much more than a pretty face, Calendius. Because you're also a pretty set of abs. I can't wait for everyone in Two to rock that look, that's for sure." And now she casts a glance around the room before she jerks a thumb at Porrim. "Remind me who this one is, would you?"

He clears his throat dramatically, fixing his gaze back on the District 5 Escort. He'd read her file. He could come up with something. Anything. "Porrim! 5's accomplishments over the last several Arenas are a credit to your efforts and work ethic. You've got kind of a mixed bag, especially that one with the speech impediment, but you don't seem to let it get you down. Good job on that! I hope you find another Victor right after we do."
It wasn't complete bullshit, but there was still a teflon quality to Calendius' cadence he couldn't entirely shake. Oh well. The staffer seems amenable to it, at least. Maybe the poor guy just wants to leave. "Now um," Cal scans the circle for someone yet to be called upon. "Porrim, let's hear something nice about Clara."
no subject
And lord knows she needs a Victor.
The Escort scans the circle until her gaze rests on Clara, giving the Mentor a warm smile. "Clara. Of course. I have to say, your warmth toward your Tributes is sincerely heartwarming. You were an excellent Tribute, and I can tell just from these last few Arenas that you're going to be an even better Mentor. It seems to come naturally to you."
The facilitator gives a little nod, glad that things are staying on track here.
"Lovely. And Clara, what do you have to say about our newest Mentor, Signless?"
