I saw a little ragged man
Who| Bruce and Tony
What| Bruce is moping. Tony is going to employ his aggressive friendship.
Where| Bruce's room in D3
When| Soon after he comes back from the arena, day that the Panem Nightly is hacked.
Warnings/Notes| Discussions of violence, possibly references to suicidal ideation
Bruce has always hated waking up after transforming. There's nothing that compares to the crushing knowledge that he's killed because he lost control of himself. It doesn't help that he watched the footage of himself. He had to see who he killed. How he did it.
He really only came out to make sure that everyone was okay, and now sticks close to his own district, only really wandering outside of his room to cook and eat. He has otherwise spent most of his time reading and meditating in his room, trying to come to terms with another incident.

And as someone who also isn't good at handling things, Tony has come up with the obvious solution. He knocks on the man's room door and waits for Bruce to appear on the other side, clearly having just wafted in without a care in the world.
Once the door opens, he just grins.
"I know a bar, let's go."

Bruce is stuck between being cranky at having his
broodingreflection time interrupted and being glad to see a friendly face. He goes somewhere in the middle and just gives Tony an exasperated look. "Alcohol?"He really shouldn't want to drink, but he does. He just wants to forget all the bullshit in the arena, in the Capitol, in the last ten goddamn years. He's also concerned by the fact that that is going dangerously close to using alcohol to escape his problems, and he doesn't want to form a habit.

In his mind it's such an obvious thing he's surprised how others haven't figured it out yet, if he can't create he'll destroy himself.
"So let's go, there's a really good place I want you to see."
no subject
He disappears for a moment, then comes back with a jacket on. To be fair, he understands the urge to destroy if one isn't allowed to create. It's something he's struggled with for a long time. The issue is that his destructive energy isn't always directed at himself.
"So where are we going?"
no subject
He waits for Bruce to come back before he starts heading to the elevator, he hits the button to take them to the ground floor then leans casually against the wall, staring at his reflection for a moment with a passing interest before turning to respond to the question.
"Well I was thinking about a rave, but the drinks really aren't that good. Or really the music." He says it in a way to imply that it seriously was a thought he had for them tonight. "So I think we'll just go to this little out of the way place, Steve showed me." He's vague with his reference, but assumes that it gives Bruce at least an idea of where they're heading.
no subject
Bruce understands fully. He makes no signal to tell Tony that; he figures that either Tony assumes that he knows or feels that he'll roll with it when he realizes.
He keeps his eyes down, keeps following Tony. He has to have his hands in his pockets so he can feel like he's doing something with them. Otherwise, they feel like loose ends. Things that might get snagged on stray edges and unravel until he falls apart.

When they get the lift Tony just leans against the elevator wall with his own hands in his pockets looking very casual.
"As a future heads up. Don't go out the first day. I think I've been less bored doing my taxes or sitting through a shareholders meeting."

It was a strange thing to hope for, considering how horrible the arenas were, but it felt much better when they were all together and there was none of that pulsing guilt over letting someone die and the nagging uncertainty if they've been raised or they have finally been let go.
no subject
Tony says with little emotion. He's been in an arena when powers and abilities were switched on and really all it did was save his life. But being all he really has is his mind, if anything switching powers on is actually more of a sore spot for him because in the arena he doesn't change at all.
The joys of only counting as a super hero when you're in a flying suit of armour.
"Well you've got to try going out early at least once, right? There's actually less parties without the tributes being around too." The door opens soon enough, and Tony just heads out the elevator, clearly knowing where he's going, not that that was ever going to be a surprise.
no subject
"The citizens of the Capitol like to have us around to party with. If we're not, then they like sitting at home and watching us. Makes sense for them to be quieter when most of us are in the arena." Bruce follows Tony faithfully. He has a feeling he knows where they're going, but he feigns ignorance.
no subject
"I've seen what they do when the arena's full. They still party, they just have a more limited celebrity sex pool." Something that in his younger days he would have enjoyed, but now he's pretty eager to avoid.
He still has Pepper back home after all.
Once out of the tower he strolls away from the more well lit and club heavy parts of town angling for the quieter less obsessively neon lit direction of the city.

Sometimes he wonders. It feels like most menial positions are taken up by Avoxes, and the police force is almost entirely from District 2. What does the average Capitolite do with their lives?
He follows with the same intent, but he's better at disguising it, making it seem like a man simply meandering behind a friend with a more overbearing personality, as if he has no idea where they're going.
no subject
"You forgetting something?" She chuckles then looks forward again. "From 17 to well... my forties this life was more my job than my company was."
Tony doesn't bother to hide his intent, mostly because he's still trying to hold on to his alcoholic persona here. The more it looks like he's eager to get drinking the more he's pleased with how he appears.

Tony continues to lead him through a strange path, not taking a direct route before finally making it to the shady looking bar in question. Once through the doors Tony Nudges Bruce.
"I have a room in the back."
no subject
Bruce feels himself relaxing when they're away from the cameras. He can't completely relax, but he can begin to. "Is this what you've been up to while we were gone?"
no subject
He adds glibly, before weaving his way through the bar and off to the back room. Standing by it, waiting for Bruce to make it across the room behind him.
no subject
"How did you get it?"
no subject
He smirks and with a glance around opens the door for Bruce to walk in first.
"Would you believe I know a guy?"
