Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy

Who| John Watson, Sherlock Holmes and anyone they encounter
What| Exploring, complaining, all that wholesome stuff
Where| Throughout the Capitol
When| After John's introduction as punishment for Sherlock messing with the cameras
Warnings/Notes| No warnings as of yet. This post can also be used for meeting just John or just Sherlock, we can engineer them splitting up for fact-finding a la Scooby Doo if you prefer!

Having been given a quick crash course on everything Sherlock had learned during his stay in the Capitol and his rather unpleasant experiences in the Arena, John had asked if Sherlock wouldn't mind showing him around some of the more interesting places in the sprawling, decadent city. He felt like having a rather stiff drink, actually- something to wash down the hideously confusing day he'd had- though he doubted he could convince Sherlock to join him in destroying a few braincells at whatever passed for a pub in this ridiculous place.

"So, where's next?" he asked, as lightly as he could manage as he stuffed his hands into his pockets.

Whatever world the capitol had drawn Some from, it certainly wasn't from Earth - not as Sherlock knew it, at least. Though some creatures on his planet had eight limbs, no mammal or marsupial had - which was the only bracket Sherlock could assign to the creature. The bone structure from the waist up seemed relatively humanoid though he found himself attempting to figure out how Some's arms worked without the shoulder blades grinding against each other.

He shook his mind clear, filed it away for later. He wasn't a biologist - and trying to decipher it now would be exceedingly less efficient than doing so going over the footage from the last arena.

Whatever it was, it was high enough on it's food chain to be a direct competitor to humans. Or above. Who knew where the thing had come from.

"Not Earth. I expect." Sherlock said, answering his own thoughts rather than anything the conversation might have led to.

Some looked between the two, head cocking far to one side. "A formation called River-Eaten in a cavern system called All-Falls-In. I think it is on an Earth, but I did not know what planets or stars were until I lived with humans, so I'm not sure of my reference. There were humans on the surface, though."

Sherlock, on the other hand, had seen Some's footage from the arena, and knew very well that he should fear him. But like most things Sherlock should be afraid of, he found it fascinating instead.

John didn't need to know about the man-eating.

"A different universe, then," Sherlock said, a little oddly flatly, his eyes narrowed as his mind raced with possibilities. Aliens implied that this could be a literal future of his universe. But if there were multiple universes...

Usually it was something he wouldn't care about in the slightest. But the ultimate problem he was working on right now was how to get home, and this offered a tiny piece of insight.

"Fascinating."

"Oh, yes. There is almost nothing the same." Some liked Sherlock's scrutiny more than John's nerves. He could almost smell the near-fear off of him.

"Cities, science, just... being among so many. It was all new, the first time I was taken to a city. This is not the first," he added, lowering his voice slightly.

"You were brought to a city before. But not here. On this world? On yours? Or another?" The questions were rapid-fire, his entire being betting on the third. "Were their cities on Earth in your universe at all? Or--"

"On another, I think... Bete Noire was its own world, I think. It was the center- no, I don't know if there were cities on my Earth. Settlements of humans, yes, but I'm told a city is more than that? If there were any, they were not close to where my family lived. And the- explorers never went far. And I never went to the surface at all." Some tried to keep up, answering as best as he was able.

"Interesting," Sherlock finally declared, his eyes slightly narrowed. "You didn't finish your thought. It was the center of?"

"The universe, they said." Some shrugged. He had never understood much of what went on there. "Though if that were true and if it were so important, I do not understand what it was such a human place, made out of human religions."
