Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy

Who| John Watson, Sherlock Holmes and anyone they encounter
What| Exploring, complaining, all that wholesome stuff
Where| Throughout the Capitol
When| After John's introduction as punishment for Sherlock messing with the cameras
Warnings/Notes| No warnings as of yet. This post can also be used for meeting just John or just Sherlock, we can engineer them splitting up for fact-finding a la Scooby Doo if you prefer!

Having been given a quick crash course on everything Sherlock had learned during his stay in the Capitol and his rather unpleasant experiences in the Arena, John had asked if Sherlock wouldn't mind showing him around some of the more interesting places in the sprawling, decadent city. He felt like having a rather stiff drink, actually- something to wash down the hideously confusing day he'd had- though he doubted he could convince Sherlock to join him in destroying a few braincells at whatever passed for a pub in this ridiculous place.

"So, where's next?" he asked, as lightly as he could manage as he stuffed his hands into his pockets.

Blaine was used to Sherlock enough by then to not take the lack of introduction personally. Instead he went to John and offered to shake his hand. "I'm Blaine Anderson. It's nice to meet you." He glanced at Sherlock as he disappeared before focusing on John again. "Did you know him before? I don't think I've seen you in the tapes?"

He had been watching some of the Arenas off and on when he could stomach it. He was trying to learn how he could survive. It was slow going for him though because with each death he needed a break.

Blaine's eyes lit up. "So you're his... friend?" He asked. There was only a slight hesitation at the word 'friend' and that was only because Sherlock hadn't done anything to give Blaine the impression of having a lot of friends. Not that that was bad. It just meant that the people he did count as a friend had to be special.

"Well, he can't be very happy about it," Blaine pointed out, sympathy going out to both of them. "I wouldn't want anyone I care about stuck in this place. At least you can protect each other this way?"

"I am definitely not happy about it," Sherlock interjected as he walked back into the room, now dressed in a long coat that was as close as he could get to his woolen trench-coat in this place. It was considerably more dour than the usual capitol attire, but still had flecks of iridescent blue through the fabric, so it shimmered slightly when he turned around.

"John, however, is more than capable of taking care of himself. I'm fairly confident in his chances in the arena."

"That might be it," Blaine said. He couldn't help but think the Capitol would be more interested in seeing which of them would win in a fight but he didn't feel the need to say that.

"I expect it is likely the opposite," Sherlock said darkly, voicing what Blaine did not with a tight, sharp smile. "Back home, John was an army doctor, before coming to work with me as my partner." It was a word he hadn't exactly used before, but that he felt neatly summed up their professional relationship. 'Assistant' and 'colleague' didn't seem to exactly cover it.

"So, business partners then?" he asked. John's explanation seemed to lean towards business partner than the other definition of 'partner' that came to Blaine's mind. He looked between both men and then focused on John. "We don't get that kind of technology in the Arena though. You'll be a real asset there."

A small smirk slipped onto Sherlock's lips. He enjoyed showing John off when he had a chance to.

"Yes, so you'd best stay on his good side," Sherlock said with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

"Do you know if you can help train some people? They have classes, but they're given by people who don't really know what it's like to be in the thick of things," Blaine asked John. He planned on taking Sherlock's advice to heart, even if he was being sarcastic about it.

He rolled his eyes at the intense sincerity he was being subjected to, but was also secretly pleased at John being incredibly useful.

"I think you'll have many people making similar requests," He pointed out to John with a smirk.

Blaine nodded at John's accurate assessment and then smiled a bit at Sherlock's comment.

"He's right, you know," he said softly. "A lot of people get hurt pretty badly in the Arena. They'll want to know how to deal with it."
