Trouble Loves Company

Who| Gary, Nitou, Aang, Davesprite, Iskierka, and probably a whole lot of angry Peacekeepers
What| Gary stays out too late and misses curfew, then decides to throw a post-curfew rooftop party with whoever he can convince to come with him because why the hell not.
Where| The Training Center in general, moving up to the rooftop.
When| Late Sunday, October 26th
Warnings/Notes| Language and violence (but what else is new)

The previous evening was a pleasant change from what Gary had come to expect as the norm. He missed not having curfew. Stalking about town late into the evening, bouncing from party to shop to party again, only coming back to his suite to crash at dawn. He could do that every night if he had the opportunity.

Perhaps he shouldn't have had a taste of that sweet ambrosia the night before; come Sunday evening, far into downtown with a box of food and several drinks under his belt, Gary found the time and realized that ten minutes 'til eleven wasn't going to cut it. There was the initial bout of raw panic, of course, racing himself to see if he could make it back before curfew struck, but soon enough he succumbed to the inevitable. Why fight what he can't win? He's already out, he's already going to get in trouble no matter what he does--why not make a night of it? What are the Peacekeepers going to do about it, anyways? Surely they can't throw him in jail or anything just for staying up too late.

It seems that the Peacekeepers are more involved in the Capitol proper than the Training Center, so Gary decides to spend the rest of his evening there--perhaps on the roof, for its scenery and relative isolation. But he can hardly do this alone, and not without some important provisions first. He'll stop by D11 and grab some food and drinks from the fridge, see who else wants to join him along the way, then gather them all to the rooftop and have a fun time of it.

Gary steps into the elevator and sets the first stop for floor 11. He thinks for a moment. Shrugs. Runs his hand over the rest of the buttons before the elevator doors close.

[[IMPORTANT NOTE: Log is semi-open to those that are okay with breaking curfew and facing mod consequences; if you decide to tag in, your character's name will be added to the top and they WILL be punished, most likely here and after the fact. Have fun everyone!]]

Nitou hasn't been too happy about these curfews, either. For one thing, he is a hobo an adventurer, and he doesn't like to sleep indoors. For another, they drastically cut down on any late-night mayo runs he might have wanted to make. He'd spent most of his teenage years driving his grandma crazy with his curfew-dodging, and it's frankly a miracle he hasn't tried anything before now. Needless to say, he's quite interested at all this knocking. "Hey, man, what's up?"

"A snack and a party? With the curfew?" Nitou breaks out into a wide grin. "It's about time someone did something like that!" He is not at all hard to convince. "Hold on, let me grab my tent and some extra mayo." These are all important party things, clearly.

It has never been hard to talk Nitou into making terrible decisions as long as he deems them enough of an adventure. And in this offer, he sees an opportunity for a good time. "What, I can't sleep out there after the party's over? I don't want to have to come back here to get it!"

Good call on not telling him to leave the mayo, at least.

"Only one way to find out!" Nitou grins. "We can all cram in there and see!" And, after a bit of a pause, "You got any girls in that elevator?"
infinitemayonnaise: (possibly mildly confused)

[personal profile] infinitemayonnaise 2014-11-01 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
"With...spikes?!" Gary, what does this mean? Nitou does not know what this means. "So...she's got some piercings or something?"
infinitemayonnaise: (this is going to be good)

[personal profile] infinitemayonnaise 2014-11-06 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, okay, then!" Nitou runs over to the couch, pulls out a squeeze bottle of mayo from under the couch cushions, and then bolts towards the elevator. He runs a hand through his hair as he did so, smoothing it back and trying to make himself look presentable. "Where is she?"

Iskierka, for her part, has absolutely no idea what Gary's planning. But she's more than willing to meet anyone who's (apparently?) shown interest in her, and so she pokes her nose out of the elevator without so much as a second though.

The rest of her follows not long thereafter, and it's pretty clear that while she might be female, she's very much not human. On the other hand, she does at least accurately the 'with spikes' part of Gary's description, which is something at the very least. Even if it is only a part of how she could be described.
infinitemayonnaise: (we ran out of mayo noooo)

Nitou stubbornly runs a hand through his hair one more time right before the introduction, and...

There's a yelp of surprise as he springs back and starts frantically rooting around in his pockets for magic rings that just aren't there. "That's a dragon!" The only one he's seen before was Haruto's, and Haruto's Dragon running around loose would have been a very bad thing, but...at least this wasn't Haruto's?

"I do not see why I should be anything else," Iskierka answers, at the comment that she's a dragon. It's not as if there's much a a secret that she's around either, although she supposes that Nitou might be one of the newer arrivals, and one who hasn't yet caught on to the fact that there is actually a dragon involved in the Games.

Still, she seems perfectly willing to roll with things, and doesn't seem too bothered by Nitou's obvious surprise and concern, for all that she doesn't directly answer Gary's comment.

Nitou, to his credit, recovers quickly once he realizes that this dragon is probably not a Phantom. Probably. Most likely.

She isn't making him hungry, anyway.

"It's, uh, nice to meet you?" Nitou's still a little confused by this whole thing, but he is aware of two things: one, that he needs to pay Gary back with a better prank; and two, that he needs to try this on Haruto for obvious dragon-related reasons.

"I do not see why it should be anything else," Iskierka answers in response to Nitou's comment. True, she's a dragon, but even she hasn't failed to notice that there's a lot less nervousness on the whole here than there would have been back at home.

"It would have to be a very large tent," she comments, as Gary ushers them towards the elevator. "And I should rather prefer a pavilion besides, if there were an option."
infinitemayonnaise: (why me)

[personal profile] infinitemayonnaise 2014-11-20 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, it's...uh...a buddy of mine had some trouble with a dragon before, let's just say that." That's the simplest way to handle it; Dragon was always Haruto's problem before anyone else's. But hey! He can change subjects with the tent. Not that this is a good thing, and he is already thinking of some terrible way to get Gary back for this. Somehow, someway.

"It's kind of a small tent! You could maybe get your head in there if you just wanted to check it out, I guess." Nitou's at least going to roll with this and treat it like a bad blind date, seeing as how she was nice enough not to want to eat him or drive humans to despair to cause more Phantoms to be born or anything like that.

Aang woke up from nightmares and is very restless. He's doing push ups--strength training is a must if one wants to be a good earth- or firebender--when the elevator door opens up. He doesn't stop his exercising, instead looking up to see who is there so late.

"Hey." He doesn't even sound a little out of breath. "I didn't know you had a curfew pass."
actually112: (Yes Zuko it was this easy to catch me.)

[personal profile] actually112 2014-11-01 08:24 am (UTC)(link)
"Uh... that doesn't seem like a good idea."

Aang stops his push ups--balancing on his hands for a moment to swing his legs under him and sit down in one smooth motion--to frown up at Gary. "Won't you get in trouble for that?"

For all that Iskierka has made her best attempt to abide by the rules of the Capitol, the latest indignity is not at all something she likes. Being cooped up is never enjoyable; being cooped up with people she only sort of knows is significantly less so.

Conveniently, she's settled into a rather grumbly pile of scales when Gary pokes his head in, and the oddity of someone who's not supposed to be in this particular common room is enough to get her to raise her head even if she doesn't make to speak just yet. Sooner or later she likely will, but not just yet.

"If I were not, I wouldn't be here," Iskierka answers, as if this should have been entirely obvious. She might like the common room, but if she had meant to sleep, she'd have ended up in her own room, as opposed to staying in the common room.

(It's more comfortable in her own room, and Granby - the tribble one, anyway - is there as well, which makes things at least a little better in the long run.)

Iskierka blinks, once, and then gets to her feet almost faster than it seems should be possible. She's always been fond of the roof, and it's not as if they'll be leaving the tower itself. Besides, she's decided that the curfew is absolutely awful and any chance to get around it sound more than wonderful.

"I should be glad to."

"I cannot see why I should," Iskierka answers, as she makes her way towards the elevator. She hardly has very many personal belongings and anything she does have isn't something that she needs for something like this.

(Not that she's had much experience with any sorts of parties, but she figures there probably isn't much that she needs to know about it beyond what she already does.)
