We staked out on a mission to find our inner peace
Who| Jessica & Albert
What| Wedding planning
Where| A bakery, then perhaps elsewhere
When| Pre-Crowning
Warnings/Notes| N/A? Will edit if needed.
In all honesty, Jessica was looking forward to planning Albert's wedding. With all the chaos, the death, the brandings, everything that seemed to constantly explode in their laps, something bright and positive would make life seem positive, if only for a little while. Jessica had always wanted to get married, but she knew that sort of future would never really be in the cards for her, so living vicariously through Albert and Jet would be a decent substitute. Still, it made her long for her family and for what could never really be, and it made her heart ache just a little. She didn't let on though, sampling the varies cake varieties offered by the upscale bakery she and Albert were visiting. Outwardly, everything seemed fine, mundane, normal. And that's how she liked it. Smiling, she swirled a bit of whipped cream onto a spoonful of peach cake filling.
"I still think you should really go all out. The bigger the wedding is, the more sponsors we can drum up. And after last arena, we could really use a few more..." She raised her eyebrows over her octagonal sunglasses.

"You'll want to dance something with him, right? So we'll go with something basic and classic, that he can pick up quickly. What about a waltz? It's not too complex, once you get the basics down, and it's always a crowd pleaser."

The last time he'd waltzed had been with Jet, but his partner had lead and it was a little embarrassing all around. Especially given their sleep-deprived state and the fact that they'd been doing it to pass through jets of fire that popped up in 3/4 time.
Their lives are so strange sometimes.

He takes her arm in the crook of his and nods, smiling. He's so full of a myriad of feelings over all of this that he knows he's been inconsistent, but Jessica's put up with all of it, and even built some silver linings. She's radiant and so very much not the girl he'd argued with in his first week here.
He'll protect her, he decides to himself. If anything happens with the Rebellion, or within the Capitol, or anyone wants to do her harm, he'll protect her.
