Private Interviews

After the end of the Arena but before the date of the Crowning is scheduled, each Tribute is taken aside by their Escort to a private room in the Tribute Center, where they are given a glass of water and made to wait for a sharply-dressed interviewer. A plate of cookies sits on a coffee table in front of them.

Eventually, the interviewer arrives and sits across from them, a digital notepad at the ready and a brand of horn-rimmed glasses that records audio on their face. "Good afternoon. This shouldn't take more than twenty minutes, we only really need to scratch the surface here. I'm just going to ask you a few questions about your competitors, if that's okay?"

Of course it's okay. You're not allowed to leave even if it's not okay.

A few of the local politicians, Mentors and Tribute Center staff members are also pulled aside for interviews.

[OOC: All players who want their characters involved in the upcoming media special should have their characters post here ICly with a response by Saturday, October 11th. You will receive a mod response with a list of questions. Please reply ICly by Saturday, October 18th.

Also, I know it's an IC option for some characters to respond with nothing but silence, but be aware that that will significantly reduce your character's contribution to the special.

New characters are encouraged to participate! Some of the questions may involve Districtmates so feel encouraged to reach out to people you don't have CR with and come up with answers together!

Nasir was on edge, muscles tight, eyes wary, and holding himself far too rigidly. Since the Arena had ended, he kept himself in isolation. He didn't want to see people. He didn't want to deal with people. And when any came out into the District 2 suite, he rapidly retreated.

His Escort was the last person he wanted to deal with, particularly when he was being taken somewhere. Part of him was convinced that he was going to be executed for his supposed crime while another wilder part of him was foreseeing more beatings and torment inflicted on him, or worse they would make him see it inflicted on Agron and his brother.

He closed his eyes and the images filled his mind. They lingered when he opened them, even as he was brought into a nice room. Someone handed him water. He didn't dare refuse.

And then he took a seat, paying no attention to the cookies, just staring blankly at the interviewer. He tried to appear neutral and impassive and when the question was over he nodded.

"Yes, dom--" He cut himself off just before finishing the word, eyes widening at the realization of what he'd nearly said, without even meaning to. Dominus. Master The word that had been on his tongue for so many years. "Yes."

1.

Nasir was clearly taken aback by the question but he seems more amused than anything. "I have never lain with Felicity and I question her intent to marry me though I would not object if she were willing and lives took different paths."

2.

"Booty call?" After receiving an explanation, Nasir made a face that was decidedly not pleasant. "No, I would not. His desires do not lie in men else he would have acted after we have had much drink." He paused. "I would never."

3.

Nasir glared at that. "I require no help nor have I desire to marry."

4.

Nasir went blank at the question but his breath seemed to hitch. "I love him in his entirety, faults and strengths. Yet I hold him to my heart--" It was hard for him to speak for a moment. "Not for his ability as warrior but for his strength of heart and the fury he holds." He could go on really but it was clear, no matter how he hid it, that he was in too much pain-- and that he was holding back.

5.

Nasir had to ask who Black Tom Cassidy was and then his expression hardened. "I find it hard to assess abilities of man who fights injured opponent. He has the heart of a Roman and will prove well suited--" to Panem. "to Arena. I pray we meet again in Arena, on more equal footing."

Regarding Jet Link, Nasir went into his standard neutral expression as he replied. "I hold no strong opinion of Jet Link. Yet I hold regret for him. In the Arena, intent was to kill him. I regret that I only blinded him. I did not wish him to suffer. We do what we must in the Arena."

"I do not know Kristoff. Our paths have not met."

"Gannicus is a friend. I have fought beside him for years. I can ask for few better warriors at my side for Arena or--" He stopped himself from saying 'outside it.' He couldn't give them ideas that they would attempt anything. "When searching for drink. Gannicus will be victor upon a day. He is a champion."

"Sif has great skill, more than capable of both defense and attack. I find no sense in why she does not press advantage in Arena but perhaps not all are suited for blood."

Nasir then waited patiently until he could leave, falling back once more into his dejected stance, the act done.
