We’re all scared of trenches. [semi-closed]
Who| Thor and [closed] to close CR/people who have arranged to meet him. Mostly Avengers/Vikings but if you have a burning need just message me!
What| Thor returns from the glorious finale and is understandably ruffled by how it went down.
Where| D2, the commons/particularly the bar area/training center
When| After Thor dies.
Warnings/Notes| Talk of a vicious death, drinking to cope
If there's any good Thor can take from this, it's that his legs don't hurt anymore. He awakes and returns to his dwellings in silence, the weight of the past few months sitting heavily on his shoulders. Self care comes first. He eats, he drinks, he showers and he tries to make himself rest in silence for at least a while. He soaks in all that he has gone without in the Arena, but he can't stay idle for long. Being alone makes him repeat everything, every mistake he made and every chance he should have used. It will be much better to be around people, his people. He hadn't expected Bro's words to stick and resound for so long, but it gives him something to strive for. To be, as he put it, selfless or whatever and someone to lean on just as Thor should be.
And so he sets off to find them, and he'll poke his head around many places in the tower. He's dressed casually in a flannel shirt over a white shirt and jeans with his hair pulled back, he definitely looks as unimpressive as he feels, but he won't dwell on that. He'll wander through the training center first in the hopes of approaching his friends, then he'll move to the commons in the hopes of catching them as they pass before moving to treat himself to a drink at the lobby bar. Eventually, he'll find himself back up in District Two and acquaints himself with the couch, knowing people will seek him out there.
Even with his friendly intentions, he can't help the fact that he's glowering for the most part. He tries to look approachable, but the stern annoyance is apparent in his expression.

"Well yeah so get this! I'm hanging out in the place with the singing metal monster things right?" She launches into a more animated version of her tale. "And I'm like "OK I can live with this." And I'm hanging out listening to the music. And this girl shows up to fight me! And I'm ready! She has a bat and I've only got this can of totally gross Yaknog but I figure I can take her because I'm me!" She thumped her chest proudly.
"So we run at each other and suddenly this old man gets in the way! And he's got a metal arm and a thing on his face." She covered one of her eyes in a way of indicating what he looked like.
"He stopped the bat with his metal arm and the girl just kinda...left. Even after I hit her in the head with my can. So I'm thinking "Alright whatever, at least I'm not dead." And then out of no where the guy stabs me! I mean come on who does that!?" She threw her arms in the air exasperated at the unseen betrayal that had been her demise.

There's something deeply frustrating about the fact that this is the second conversation they've had like this, particularly when he knows there's little he can do about it. What's more concerning is that the description could suit at least two men he knows, one of which he has grown to like. He will have to word this carefully, he thinks.
"At the very least, we can take pleasure in the fact that this man has not become a Victor." He offers her that comfort with a raised brow. "And that I shall have a face to seek within the next Arena- should you give me more description." He's quietly praying it isn't the man he knows.

She was oblivious to Thor's concerns and for a moment flickered as she realized she was being so open and honest with one of her gods about getting suckered by an old guy.
"He never would have beaten me in a fair fight. I mean I don't mind fighting dirty but that wasn't even really a fight was it just like...a stabbing."

"I'm certain of it, but there are few people here who fight fair." His voice lowers some, his smile remains but his voice is a little more stern. "It seems we have some work to catch up on. As I last recall, you were learning how to lose with great talent."
no subject
"Well lucky for me I'm a slow learner so I'm not totally the best at losing yet."
But she was pretty close.
"So what do we do first then? I don't even remember who my mentors are. I was just gonna do what you and Hiccup and Astrid told me."
