We’re all scared of trenches. [semi-closed]
Who| Thor and [closed] to close CR/people who have arranged to meet him. Mostly Avengers/Vikings but if you have a burning need just message me!
What| Thor returns from the glorious finale and is understandably ruffled by how it went down.
Where| D2, the commons/particularly the bar area/training center
When| After Thor dies.
Warnings/Notes| Talk of a vicious death, drinking to cope
If there's any good Thor can take from this, it's that his legs don't hurt anymore. He awakes and returns to his dwellings in silence, the weight of the past few months sitting heavily on his shoulders. Self care comes first. He eats, he drinks, he showers and he tries to make himself rest in silence for at least a while. He soaks in all that he has gone without in the Arena, but he can't stay idle for long. Being alone makes him repeat everything, every mistake he made and every chance he should have used. It will be much better to be around people, his people. He hadn't expected Bro's words to stick and resound for so long, but it gives him something to strive for. To be, as he put it, selfless or whatever and someone to lean on just as Thor should be.
And so he sets off to find them, and he'll poke his head around many places in the tower. He's dressed casually in a flannel shirt over a white shirt and jeans with his hair pulled back, he definitely looks as unimpressive as he feels, but he won't dwell on that. He'll wander through the training center first in the hopes of approaching his friends, then he'll move to the commons in the hopes of catching them as they pass before moving to treat himself to a drink at the lobby bar. Eventually, he'll find himself back up in District Two and acquaints himself with the couch, knowing people will seek him out there.
Even with his friendly intentions, he can't help the fact that he's glowering for the most part. He tries to look approachable, but the stern annoyance is apparent in his expression.

Thor quirks a brow, eyes drifting down to the cuff as the clarity dawns on him and he scoffs. "It is most becoming on you." He assures, his hand falling to graze over his bare wrists, an old habit of his. "Have you reconvened with many others?"
no subject
"I don't really think it goes with my eyes, but it probably has potential."
With a further twirl of his fingers and a glance at the cuff, Tony eats the pineapple off the umbrella. Then he nods.
"Bruce, Barnes, and Steve are all present and accounted for." The a slight hesitation with saying Steve's name. After all the man now was at a point with Tony where he had earned the use of his first name, it was just a matter of getting used to saying it, among other reasons that Tony wasn't going to go into.
"And a few others. And aside from the brands, they're fine. Oh, Barnes' hair's going back to fighting yours for Ms Luscious Locks 2014, just so you might want to put in a cream rinse or something."
He's keeping his face relatively serious for him anyway, but really the joke was obvious in his eyes.
no subject
"I'm glad to hear it." He says with a nod. Those are three of particular importance to both of them that Tony would mention, he will find the other people he seeks in time. He isn't terribly eager to search out bad news, after all.
"The brands remained?" He quirks a brow, but he isn't too surprised. He just shakes his head at the joke, letting his mane tousle a little as he does. "He can do as he pleases with his, I prefer a natural state." Read: dirty. "Barnes fares well, then?" His tone softens a little, trying not to reflect on the Arena.
no subject
"Well enough. Yeah." There's a moment of pause, as he not only reflects about what happened in the arena but what he knows about Bucky while he was the Winter Soldier. "I think he's actually doing pretty well, I've had him sort of laugh a few times since I came back, and a lot less confused looks."
He takes a long drink.
"That or he's just assuming he never knows what I'm talking about now and goes with it."
no subject
"If anyone could draw a laugh from him, it's you. You're well versed in being ridiculous." He smirks, just faintly. It's probably a compliment. "Perhaps he knows more than he lets on. It's hard to say." And then he thinks on it for a moment, his expression becoming a little more serious as he speaks up again.
"You spoke of HYDRA. In the Arena. I'd not known what it was, nor had I given you the chance to explain." He pauses for a moment before he continues. "I think I can spare the time now."
no subject
He takes a long drink, as Thor calls him ridiculous and he simply raises an eyebrow at him.
"That word is starting to become a recurring theme when it comes to me." He thinks about Bucky maybe knowing more than he lets on then shrugs. "If he does he's probably only going to tell Steve about it before he thinks about sharing with he class."
He'd known growing up that Bucky and Steve were what true BFF's were made of, but then 'everything was better then' was also something he heard a lot. So it was a safe bet to think that Steve was where Bucky felt the safest.
"They." Tony pauses to try and think about how best to describe HYDRA to Thor. "Are a very bad crowd." he says with a story telling flair before slipping back to how he normally sounds. "They used to be an occult science division back in the 1940's during our second world war. Lead by a guy called Red Skull, for the record, it's a pretty literal name. Our good Captain and his merry men were in charge of reminding him how freedom works. Barnes was one of them."
He pauses to take another drink, the way he's talking shows that this is a topic that Tony's clearly well versed in and thinks it's actually worth giving Thor clarity over making references he won't get, considering the topic he knows it's not a time to be amusing.
"Barnes was reported Killed in Action, the only one in the team. Well Cap was too, he ended up having to ditch a plane into the North Atlantic while trying to take out the Skull. So really they were both listed K.I.A until a few years back when he was found in the ice."
He shifts in his seat as he has a moment to think.
"Better make sure we re-list Barnes as Missing instead of Killed when we all get back actually. It's weirdly easy enough to do legally."
Then after another quiet moment.
"Skull was also the one who stole the Tesseract from the humans that worship you, too. So really, it's him you have to thank for your brother going off the deep end."
no subject
His expression darkens at the mention of the Tesseract, but he shakes his head. "Loki's ruin was wrought by himself alone, regardless of influences he sought out." He gives his shoulders a light shrug. "He left on poor terms before he set his sights on Midgard."
