Scared for my life [OPEN]
Who| Doc Holiday and anyone not in the arena
What| Finally roaming around the Tribute Tower after her death in the arena
Where| District 8 common area and any other public place in the tower
When| This evening and into the morning, nearly a week after her death
Notes| Bring on the CR. Please.
Holiday had never been the type of woman to cower and hide. Yet, she did so for an entire week.
The first day after she awoke in her room, she refused to leave the bed and even nearly attacked the Avox who came by to try and clean up the room or bring her food. After being bold enough to peek out of the door and realizing that she was nowhere near Providence anymore, she simply stayed there, lost on what to do. She even tried to make some makeshift weapons, but they would vanish after she inevitably fell asleep. The only news she had on where she was or what she was there for was caught in snippets of apparently common knowledge.
This was some terrible dream that she couldn't wake up from, even while the man's face and the feeling of his boot rattled around in her mind.
It eventually became known that she was getting nowhere doing what she had been, so Holiday decided to finally venture out... or try to, at least.
She opened a small crack in her bedroom door before slipping out...

She opened a small crack in her bedroom door before slipping out...

She holds a hand out. "I'd rather we be friends than enemies."
no subject
"The last time I did that, I ended up getting a boot to the face," yet, she still reaches out to shake the hand and give back a smile, "but so do I. I'm Rebecca Holiday."

She didn't correct the woman out of spite or anything. It was just habit to be called doctor or just by her last name. If anything, she'd prefer to at least keep that part as similar to home as she could. "The pleasure's all mine, Ms. Eva."

Oh, WHAT? This is new information that she very much likes right now. "I have degrees in medicine, biochemistry, and nanotechnology... but this isn't a way to have them take me home, is it?"

Eva picks at her lower lip - happy as she is to be able to bring good news to someone, she doesn't want to raise Doctor Holiday's hopes too high. And the sad fact is that surviving in the Capitol always seems to involve selling your soul in some way or another. Eva bid hers away long ago, but she doubts Holiday's done so yet.
"With a skillset like that, if they took you at all they'd probably have you working on reviving the other Tributes. Anyway, you may want to ask your Escort, if you believe it's in your interests."
no subject
"Right... I'll do that. Thank you for telling me about it."

And then, as if that breach in her temper hasn't occurred at all, composes herself again and smiles at Holiday. "So, what led you into medicine?"
no subject
"The same reason most do. I wanted to help people. It was after a certain event where I'm from that led me to go into more fields of research."

Until she remembers something very important. "Oh... no." The nanites. Holy hell, the nanites. She hadn't been thinking at all. "Do you happen to know what nanites or EVOs are?"
Maybe she's just freaking out. Maybe they're here, too, and she's really not in some other world.

"I think I should talk to someone... I don't know who..."
She's internally panicking. Um.

Holiday seems to have retreated back to the nervousness she displayed earlier.

What about the man that killed her? Her body? How is she even back to life, anyway? Why didn't she think of this sooner?
"I'm sure... it'll be all right." The Capitol, the ones that brought her back, must know the truth. Right?

And after a second, "No pun intended."
no subject
"No, thank you. I think I-... I may take a rain check on that."
She didn't want to contaminate anyone...

She seems to have experience far deeper than just watching others go in.

"I'm sorry." She wasn't sure if that was the proper way to address such a thing, but Holiday was sorry. This woman didn't seem malicious of any sort.
But the tributes come back from death, right?
