[ closed ] a mad plan... the sort i favour most!
Who| Nasir, Gannicus and their prisoner
What| Nasir and Gannicus kidnap Wallander's daughter and hold her hostage so Eva can have her moment. Time to be intimidating barbarians!!!
Where| A miserable cellar somewhere secret in the city
When| Moments prior to Eva's broadcast and shit hitting the fan
Warnings/Notes| bad language from men doing bad things
The arrangement they had struck up with Eva had been an interesting one. Even now, Gannicus isn't entirely sure what he and Nasir are getting out of the bargain, aside from the (supposed) merit of knowing they had done their part in striking deep in to the heart of the Capitol.
He doesn't allow himself to think about it too hard. Thinking made his head hurt - a dull pain and a constant headache that set fire to his thoughts and left his mind derailed and broken at every inconvenient moment possible. There were uncomfortable moments of gaping, black amnesia covering the majority of his time in the jail cell before the Arena; all he knows is whatever happened to him there had hurt, and his mind has been a grey storm of pain and confusion ever since.
The Arena itself had been an embarrassment; he'd make it all up here, he tells himself. Now was the time to be blunt instruments, to paint themselves as the barbarians the Capitolite media liked to portray them as. Taking the girl - Linda - had been an easy task for two gladiators who knew how to be intimidating without even saying so much as a word.
The cellar is deep and dank, somewhere close to the sewer levels. In the past it must have stored clothes, once upon a time, but now it only held mouldering rags and dead insects.
And now two barbarians and their Capitolite hostage.
Bound and hooded, the girl is left to shiver in the corner as Nasir and Gannicus await a word from the mastermind herself. Gannicus hates the communicators - they're nothing more than a mocking puzzle, as far as he is concerned - so he pushes his own in to Nasir's hands as he slumps down a damp wall to sit on the floor.
"Would that we had drink to share," He grumbles. "Time would pass with more fucking speed."

Nasir watched the girl, shuddering in fear, and he felt no pity for her. She was one of the ones cheering for blood. There was a time when he guarded Ilithyia, Agron at his side, and felt something. Now there was nothing but coldness.
He kept his eyes on her as he responded to Gannicus. "We would find it empty too soon unless wine filled room."
no subject
He laughs bleakly in wordless agreement before letting his head hit the damp, decaying brick wall behind him with an audible thunk.
"Now there is idea to lift heart and bolster spirit," He mutters, staring at the ceiling above them if only to better ignore the whimpering hostage. A room filled with wine? He'd swim in it for days.
no subject
"When we take her life, we should find it and have our fill." He gripped the device Eva had given them tighter. There was still no word.
no subject
There was a time he might have felt for her - had their circumstances all been different, and if she hadn't been as much a Roman as Ilithyia had been. But her death seemed fated to be - and hopefully the sacrifice would give yet more fire to the rebellion and bring about some kind of resolution one way or the other. That was his hope, anyway. Whether or not it would be a foolish one remained to be seen.
He watches her intently, looking for any tell-tale tension in her muscles that might herald an attempt to escape - or an attempt on their life.
"You think this night will end so?" He asks Nasir softly, in a tone meant only for him and not their prisoner.
no subject
"This night will end in blood and destruction until Capitol trembles." The words came out in a harsh whisper.
He was not so deluded as to think that the Capitol would fall tonight but he would strike back in any way he could. There was a fear that they would be caught, that he would forfeit Agron's life, but the anger was so complete now that all he wanted was to see equal pain inflicted on those who had hurt him.
And, when it was over, he would play his part again until the next opportunity came.
no subject
Not that it made him any less resolute. Gannicus would see this task through until the end.
"Then let us hold hope it is Capitol blood that is shed," He murmurs in reply, eyes still on their prisoner. "And not our own."
