Mission Impossible Theme Plays

Who: Locked to Lyle Norg
What: Lyle and Brainy do something that is classic Legion (aka practically suicidal)
Where: At one of the pods in the sewers
When: A bit before the jail break
Warnings: Probably some cursing

Brainy hadn't felt his much himself since he got here. Sneaking around and nearly getting killed to try to help others was his comfort zone, and it was a relief to finally be in it again after the constant nudging Panem did to push him outside of it. It especially felt good to work outside the constraints he'd set down for himself with the villain act. It had served its purpose so far and if the Capitol got wind of "Lonestar's" existence, it would hopefully provide the extra buffer between his heroism and himself that it was meant to, but it was getting more and more unpleasant to uphold.

He and Lyle were decked out in black as they moved through the sewers, faces masked, ever vigilant of possible patrols. One of the rudimentary security devices he planned to give to one of the other Tributes kept them undetectable, but as they knew it would do nothing to avoid tripping the pods. They were careful to avoid touching them as they made their way through the sewers to the pod that Lyle and Shepard's intel had indicated as useful.

He crouched down next to it, near a panel and took out the crude device he desperately wished was a proper omnitool.

"I'm going to disarm it. It's highly advisable that you maintain a safety buffer zone of at least fifteen meters in case I fail. If it discharges, there's no need for the both of us to have our flesh melted off."

Sprock but did it ever feel good to flip into Legion mode from EarthGov Spy mode. The novelty factor of brushing off the old skillset had long worn off, and it felt good to be doing something for the greater good that wasn't lying his pretty ass off.

Even if Brainy had decided to get all bossy-in-the-annoying-way on him again.

"How come I have to stand back while you get the fun part, Mr. Beauty-of-Pure-Theory?"

He was not whining! He was making a perfectly legitimate argument!

"You have no proof that you've disarmed as many explosives as I have," Lyle countered instead of making a joke about how predisposed he might be to Coluan dexterity. Science before sprocking, at least for the moment.

"You should re-route power from the delta region before you touch anything else."

"You've also caused more explosions than I have," Lyle pointed out. "Which should count negatively against your disarmed-explosives count."

Lyle turned his eyes from the work Brainy was blocking from Lyle's view doing on the pod and peered at the walls of the passageway. What he wouldn't give to have the actual blueprints for this place.

"And keep an eye on the auxiliary sensor."

Lyle didn't say anything, but he did throw an affectionate look back at Brainy. They both knew that Lyle wasn't going to stop back-seat engineering now.

"Good job with that Coluan dexterity," he said.

He paced further down the corridor, moving silently so that he could listen for footsteps, flapping, skittering, slithering, or anything else that might indicate that they weren't alone down here. He didn't go far of course, and drifted back to take another peek over Brainy's shoulder.
