Well, thats a first! [open]
Who| Leah, you and everyone
What| Walking around, listening, walking around some more, meeting people
Where| The shopping district / District 5 lounge
When| Right now
Warnings/Notes| N/A
The shopping district
The words were still whirling inside Leah's mind. A part of her thought this was somekind of joke with a bad punchline, another part of her wanted to retaliate and a little part of her would not mind to kill off whoever in somekind of arena. With a tiny communicator in her hands she walks through the shopping district, sometimes stopping to peer into the shop windows, sometimes raising an eyebrow one one of those outrageously dressed people passed her.
Really, why would these Midgardians go and shave their heads to paint it golden? Perhaps it is just one of those many questions Leah cannot answer directly. Just like it is not quite common to be fond of watching how people slaughter eachother in an arena either.
Still, the initial confusion does not show on her face. The look remains absolutely neutral and when she walks it isn't the walk of someone unfamiliar with their environment. To look like a bumbling fool would be admitting to weakness and for some reason Leah figures that it isn't wise to look weak right on the spot.
District 5 lounge
The first thing she realizes is that there is something painfully ironic about calling those heavily armored men with those obvious weapons 'peacekeepers'. It does imply that they are definitely needed to keep the peace around here. After she has identified herself and announced herself to belong to a part called 'District 5' she gains entrance to the place where her room is located.
There are other people present. Some look at her, some don't and she cannot really find herself to care. Not yet, she still has to find out how to play this game the best. And she still has to find out who are fitting enough to be able to play such a game with her. After all, there must be so much more than just banal slaughter and cheering crowds...

Lounge
Rising from the sofa to meet her she smirks and nods ever so slightly. Her outfit is a cool sort of blue and black dress that looks light and breathable. Perfect for the heat outside.
"I was wondering when you'd arrive here. Have they explained everything to you well enough? If not I can answer your questions."
no subject
"I have to kill for another man's amusement. It is a rather simple concept. I believe the Romans were fond of this as well, yet this does not seem like an old civilisation long forgotten."
no subject
Moving back over to her seat she lowered herself luxuriously to the sofa.
"But instead of just another man you are fighting to the death for the entertainment and protection of men women and children all over. If you win then District Five, my home, will receive provisions and money they need to survive."
Laying it on a little thick maybe but if it got the job done it would be alright.

Leah does not move when the woman sits back onto the sofa again.
"That is a noble cause, consider me touched." Her voice remains without emotion, realizing it is not entirely satisfying to be pulled away from that game she had been playing on her own back in that city called New York. "The fate of an entire district resting upon my shoulders. Too bad I am not fond of weapons."
no subject
Even now there were tributes who would rather fall on a grenade then throw one.
"And if you're not interested in protecting others then perhaps you'd be more in the business of taking care of yourself. And the easiest way to do that would be to win so.." She gestured vaguely at the TV. "You could study up of course. There are plenty of non-deadly skills we can work on."
no subject
“May I ask how you’ve killed them?” Leah crosses her arms and there’s a curious look on her face. “Are you fond of messy killings? Or are you one who prefers poison?”
no subject
"I am not particularly choosy in how I dispatch my foes." She answered without batting an eyelash, "However if I had to pick I would say I feel more satisfaction from one on one combat then from murdering someone in their sleep. Both of which I had to do to win my way out of the arena."
It was not her proudest moment, but if she wanted her tributes to trust her perhaps it was time she trust them more.
I am sorry for being this late D:
“So if I win these games I am allowed to go home?” It is a bit of a stupid question. If they were allowed to go home why was this young woman still here? “Or will I be a mentor like you?”
She shrugs. “If I wish to kill people I will kill them. For now I have no reason to do so. But I think I would wish to teach some other things from you. I think you would make a good mentor, please inform me about the details, I have read something about sponsors.”
no worries!
"Well it hasn't happened yet, but eventually I suppose they'll allow it."
At least she hoped so.
She swelled with pride when the girl supposed she would make a good mentor and happily explained. "Sponsors are citizens of the Capitol, as well as the eleven districts." She explained "They can use their money to purchase items that you will receive in the arena. Nothing to give you an impossible upper hand but in the right hands any item can prove an invaluable asset. The basics are things like food and first aid of course but tools like spools of wire, multi purpose knives and the sort can also be sent."
She gestured to herself.
"I'm in charge of making sure those items are sent into the arena. Before the arena you can meet with sponsors and try to convince them to support you. During the arena I do the same thing in your stead."
