What's a young princess to do?

WHO| Chibi-Usa and anyone that comes across her
WHAT| Our pink-haired girl is coming to terms with everything
WHEN| 01- August
WHERE| D7’s floor, the Training Centre, and the Shopping districts
WARNINGS| None

District Seven’s Level

After being told she had been brought here to fight to the death for ‘glorious Panem’, given her communicator and credit card, in a daze Chibi-Usa allowed herself to be directed back to her districts floor and to her room. Once there she slept for the rest of the day willing herself not to cry through most of it.

The next morning she wakes with a start, at first thinking it had all a bad dream, rubbing at her eyes her first thought was to tell her Mama. After all she had just gotten home from staying with Usagi. As she starts to climb out of her bed she thinks maybe that dream meant Usagi needed her again?

It’s then she wakes up properly and looks around the room realising that she really had been kidnapped to another world.

What if she wasn't the only one they brought here?

“Usagi!?” she shouts as she comes running out of the room.

Training Centre

After talking to the people on her floor, Chibi-Usa comes to the training floor to look at it. She really doesn’t like what she sees, just so many weapons and people using them on each other. At least it didn’t look like they were trying to kill each other right now.

To say she was looking wide-eyed and befuddled would be an understatement, after wandering around she sits down on a bench, bringing her legs to her knees and sighing deeply.

“How am I supposed to help everyone here?” She hugs her legs tighter. “Puu, I really wish you were here right now. I even miss Usagi.”

Shopping Districts

Trying to get everything out of her mind, Chibi-Usa takes some time wandering the shopping district looking at a great many things but not actually trying to buy anything. There were so many crazy outfits, and strange things to have she was actually feeling a little overwhelmed at it all.

Where are all the normal clothes?

She soon finds herself standing in front of a window with a dress in the window that looks more like some crazy kind of mix of a pink marshmallow and a rice ball that was covered in glitter. She’s spending a lot of time wondering if it’s something to wear or some joke costume that could be edible.

Joel doesn't really know what anime is, except it sounds like a fancy term for a cartoon. But he gets the sentiment, and sniffs a little in agreement.

"Uh, yeah. Just gettin' some for a friend who likes 'em," he says, glancing down. It's a variety - he never quite knows what Ellie will like, except he knows she likes the ones in space, with aliens. So he tends to get a lot of those. Sometimes he'll vary it up, though, with a superhero or a fantasy or time travel one.

"Uh -" Joel frowns a little. "Sometimes she yells, but she don't laugh much," he admits. "When there's a cliffhanger."

Joel just shrugs. "She laughs when there's somethin' to laugh at." Which isn't often, frankly, but he doesn't think he needs to say that aloud. Then again -

He takes a look at the kid, at her round face and big eyes and pink hair. She might be younger than Clementine. "How old are you?" he asks, almost curiously.

"Christ," he mutters to himself, shaking his head. She is younger than Clementine, and his mouth thins into a hard line at the thought. Ellie, Riley, are bad enough, but Mindy, Clementine, and now this kid?

What is it with these sickos and making kids kill each other?

"You're the youngest I've met here," he points out after a moment, keeping his voice calm. It's not her fault. "I've got a kid - uh, Ellie, she's not mine but she's from my world. Anyway, my point is - you need anything, just... let me or Ellie know. Or Clementine," he adds, as an afterthought. "She's eleven."

"Nope, no trouble," he says with a shrug. Even if she manages to inconvenience him in some way, that matters less than helping this incredibly young child try to acclimate to this shitty environment.

Hopefully she's not too far in over her head, here. Nearly all of the kids he's met so far that have been brought in as tributes have had some skills. Hopefully she's one of them. They wouldn't dare bring in a normal, inexperienced kid, would they?

"Sure, kid," he says with a nod. And then adds: "I'm in eight, if you ever need somethin'."

She's just so young.

"There you go, I'm right upstairs," Joel says with a nod. "Good luck."

"Right," he says, filing it away. A little bit hard for him to pronounce, with his Texan drawl, but he'll do his best. Or just call her 'kiddo', that works, too.

"I'm Joel."

"Uh. Yeah, sure kid," he says, and turns to go, not sure what else to say to that. Thanks for being a decent human being. That's rare enough, he knows.
