In here it feels like Battle Royale meets the Truman Show [OPEN]
WHO| Everyone not in the mini-arena
WHAT| Not all the tributes are in this little event, but that doesn't mean they can't see what's going on.
WHEN| During the mini-arena
WHERE| Tesserae
WARNINGS| They're watching the arena, there may be talk of gore/dismemberment/death.
Tesserae is always at its liveliest when there is an arena full of tributes to mame. Mini-arenas unsurprisingly bring in more, mostly due to the fact that there are tributes that aren't in this arena and some tend to gravitate towards Tesserae to watch the proceedings.
Today was showing to be good for business with many people, citizens and tributes alike where in watching or making an obvious attempt to not watch while occasionally sneaking glances.
Anyone who comes in can see there's always space at the bar and the tables never seem to be occupied for too long before moving to somewhere else to get a better view of the expected carnage.

"Titanic. The movie took longer to watch than the actual ship the movie was about took to sink after it hit the iceberg. Second highest grossing movie of all time from my world, so take that how you will. Still didn't get DeCaprio his oscar."
no subject
Really gonna be hard to watch.
"You, uh...rooting for anyone in particular?"
no subject
Not that Tony would sit through it all that willingly either. He looks back at the screen as she brings up this arena isn't really something to nap through, and at her question he sniffs indifferently.
"Is there really a point to 'root' for anyone in there?" He answers sarcastically, after all he was there to watch Steve, or at least try too. Though despite Steve's constant assertions that they're a team, Tony still doesn't want people to know he might actually care about people who aren't him, here.

Or rather, he was too good a man to abandon the rest of them to the arenas. That hadn't always been true, but-- it was, now. Or, at least, he was trying to make it the truth. Maybe that was the only real difference between good and evil.
"...You?"

"I could just be here trying to see the appeal of the arena from the outside this time. It's not beyond the realm of imagination." He looks down at his drink. "Also, the rum is surprisingly good here." Tony adds with a remarkable amount of honesty, because the rum really was pretty decent here.

In fact, she'll be having some. Give that bottle here, you ass.
"You're not enjoying this. I know what fun looks like, and you're not it."
no subject
"I'll have you know that I am known for being the life of the party. Even here, I was at all the parties after I died."
Well he was mostly drunk at them, but that counts, right?
no subject
...Hey, this is good Rum. Let's drink it even faster.
"Or maybe I'm just pissed off."
no subject
"Right now, I'm thinking the third one has a certain amount of weight to it. But you're the one who's holding the bottle, so you can pick."
He gives her a smirk.

A guessing game? Fine. Shep likes guessing games.
"It's Rogers, isn't it?" Shepard gestured at him with the bottle, sloshing threateningly, and probably bruising the flavor. Or was that only for wine? Hell if she knew, "Yeah, gotta be. Barbie and Ken."
no subject
"Really? You're still clinging to that?" He eyes the bottle as it sloshes about but makes no move to take it off her.

"So what you're saying. I just until the next arena?" He gives her a shrewd look.
"It's only 'bothering' me because it's not accurate."

He drains the glass then moves it towards her, a silent attempt to ask her for a top up as she has possession of the bottle.
"That, or you've been in space so long that hypoxia's getting to you."
no subject
"I got spaced, once. Can't recommend it," The true face of Hypoxia, "But I think I could recognize the signs of a bad filter."
no subject
"Kind of done it myself. I know it's not exactly the thrill ride is sounds like it would be."
He gives a glance at the screen as commentators some to get excited about something but it doesn't hold his interest. Mostly because it doesn't seem to involve anyone he cares enough about to remember.

He rolls his shoulders slowly. Even though he's managed to work around most of his PTSD about the wormhole, and is more comfortable with talking about it, but that being said it still gives him a deeply unsettled feeling.
