Playful signs began to pop-up all over the Tribute center in the days leading up to the crowning, advertising the mandatory nature of the event itself while also promising an afternoon of delightful festivities. All attendees were loaded onto buses and driven to the location of the picnic, with colorful t-shirts distributed upon their arrival (D1- Navy, D2- Red, D3- Grey, D4- Light blue, D5- Orange, D6- Yellow, D7- Forest green, D8- Royal blue, D9- Purple, D10- Black, D11- Lime green, D12- Hot pink, and White for any Capitol officials in attendance.) Likewise, all the attendees were given name tag stickers and then dispersed out into the plaza. All except guest of honor, Kevin, who was escorted onto the grounds dressed entirely in white and was given a large and ornate golden crown to wear.

Balloons of every color decorated the entire area . Along with picnic tables and benches, a large main stage was erected in the middle of the plaza with a microphone and a DJ, who played the same six songs on repeat. At it's center, Kevin was given a throne to sit on, so that he could preside over the picnic and enjoy his freshly prepared hamburger and french fries.

There were several small tents that ringed the edge of the stage area. Inside a few of them, you might face painters available, but the only design they would do was paint your face to look like Kevin. Anyone who had their face painted was also given an adorable construction paper crown to wear.

In other tents, a few carnival games had been set up for entertainment. There was a shooting range game where the faces of the targets changed to look like you whenever you stepped up to play, as well as skeeball and a rope ladder climb game. All the prizes were stuffed plush dolls reminiscent of famed former victors. All with Kevin's smile.

A bouncy castle that looked a shocking bit like the city hall building found in the last arena was free for anyone to play on. (Complete with fog machine!) And almost directly across the way from the castle, a caged-in area set up to be a ball-pit was also open for all to enjoy. Upon further inspection of the pit filled with thousands of plastic balls, one could clearly see how they had each been painted to look like giant, vacant black eyes.

The only two food options available to attendees were cupcakes and hotdogs. The cupcakes came with sprinkles. The hotdogs also came with sprinkles. The only beverage option was orange juice. And everyone must have a glass of orange juice, otherwise no one can ever leave.

At 2pm, Peacekeepers erected a volleyball net and the Tributes were instructed to play. Anyone who touched the net would get a slight electrical shock. Clearly it was a best to avoid the net.

As the volleyball game came to a close, several officials took the stage with a special announcement. Public polls would be open to all Capitol citizens the following morning to begin casting their votes. Who will be the next tributes to go into the next arena?! Over the next few days, the public will pick their favorites to enter a special bonus arena! Stay tuned for details!

Once the festivities were over and the Tributes were loaded back onto the buses, they would come to notice something new in the lobby of the Tribute Center. On the ceiling above them was a massive crystal chandelier, seven feet across. And it was no ordinary chandelier. It was customized beautifully, in the shape of Kevin's jagged and ever-present smile.

Beneath it, a spread of fine wine and cheeses. A man in a cream yellow suit with cream yellow hair sat at a grand piano in the corner, playing calm and pleasant melodies that might seem almost familiar to some and yet unrecognizable to anyone. Escorts seem to be in no hurry to get tributes back to their towers, and the wine continues to flow late into the night for anyone who lingers around to drink it.

"It'd look weird with your beard." Clementine points out. "He'd look worse bald too." she reaches up to adjust her hat a moment. "The person who gave it might be offended if you only wear it once."

"Well sure if you're going to point out everything wrong with the plan. It's, going to sound bad."

He starts off with giving a bored look but after a beat he grins.

"Uh, yeah I don't think she's going to be all that upset about it to be honest."

"Maybe you should make a better plan then." she says playfully to Tony. "The stylists have plenty of dye."

Clementine isn't surprised that it's a girl he got the shirt from. "Well if you're sure."

"I never said it was a great plan, it was just the plan I'm going with." He looks even more amused, on the verge of a chuckle really.

"I'm sure enough for now. I guess."

"Okay but just remember he's bigger than you when you try it." Clementine says amusedly. "You'll want to use some kind of stealth attack."

[arrogantalloy]

There's a slight pause.

"Are you talking about width or was that some poor attempt at calling me short?"

Really, he's the third shortest out of his avengers team, and it bugs him more than it really should.

"There's nothing wrong with being short." Clementine says because hey, she's short and she gets by just fine, thank you. Being small has its advantages. "And I didn't say that, just that Steve's taller thank you, is all. That doesn't make you short."

[arrogantalloy]

"Says the 6 year old."

He gives her a half roll of his eyes. Admittedly, he never really had a problem with his height until the Avengers had become a thing.

"Yeah, well... Okay sure, he's just tall"

Tony starts clear but ends in a mutter, she did have sort of a point but the main reason Steve's height bugged him so much is because it had previously been joined with a look of great unimpressedness, something Tony didn't at all react well to.

"I'm 11, not 6." Clementine corrects him with a slight huff. She's mostly sure he got that wrong on purpose.

"Why's it bother you?"

[arrogantalloy]

"You're age isn't the point, it's that you still have growing to do, so you being short isn't a big deal."

He pauses then gives her a bland look.

"People like to point it out a lot."

People meaning Thor, really.

"I've always found being small pretty useful. I don't know how I'd feel if I got real tall." Being small and sneaky suit Clementine much better.

"Sounds like they're jerks."

[arrogantalloy]

"That would be because they are very good at it." He pauses. "At least around me." He's going to ignore what that implies about him.

"It only makes a few things easier, I can admit to that much." Along with being shorter he also had thinner fingers than the others, except maybe Natasha. It made building a hell of a lot easier for sure.

"It's saved my life and others a lot where I'm from." she responds thoughtfully. "Not everywhere's like that though."

[arrogantalloy]

"In my world it never really used to be a problem. Well, at least if anyone had something to say about it, I never heard it because." He pauses to pull a face. "I never had to talk to them. Now it's just a thing because..."

Tony stops, and thinks about the fact he's having a conversation about height with a child. Sometimes he really had to wonder about his life.

"You know what. There are, like, a hundred better topics that we could be talking about right now."

Clementine's eyebrows raise for a moment but yeah, sure, she doesn't mind if he wants to change the topic. He was the one who brought this one up to start with.

"Name one then."

[arrogantalloy]

Tony doesn't even have to think about that.

"What do you think about the name Iron Patriot?"

Tony just really hates that name.

"Sounds kind of dorky."

Clementine doesn't have to think about it very hard. Iron Patriot? Who would even use a name like that.

Tony swings his hand out slightly and giving her a very pleased look.

"Thank you! Good to know someone here has a good head on their shoulders."

Then he points at her.

"You need, cake." He looks around to see if there's any cake to reward her with.

"I'll never say no to cake." Clementine grins now. "Or, cupcakes." which seem to be the only option close to that at the moment.

"Who even has a name like that?" Surely not a person.

As a server approaches with cupcakes on a tray, without looking at what he picks, Tony grabs a cupcake and offers it up to the girl.

"Always good to know when baked goods can't be denied. As for the name. Friend of mine had his. Ah. Suit's name changed to that, it apparently did well in focus groups." There is very much an eyeroll about that.

Clementine takes it with a grateful smile, she's had more than a few of them today and the sugar rush has been empowering -- at least to helping get through the crowning's 'entertainment'. Wasting no time she strips the cupcake of it's case and takes a bite of spongey-icing goodness, waiting until she's finished chewing and swallowed before responding to that.

Someone named their suit? Well that just makes this guy sound even more dorky (if only Clem knew what kind of suit was actually being spoken about). "What's a focus group?"

"Mostly it's a bunch of unemployed people and housewives sitting in a room being asked questions on what they like when it comes to how a product or service is presented."

The tone he offers in his explanation really implies how much love he has for Focus Groups, which is to say none. As the owner of a company that manufactures so very many things, he's had to deal with focus group research more than he would like, and for the most part her left all that kind of thing to Pepper anyway and he still had to deal with it too often.

"I don't think I've ever seen anything good come from them, now I think about it."

The next bit of cupcake ends up with frosting on Clementine's nose, unnoticed by her as she considers this. "Then what's the point of them? It sounds like a big waste of time."

Tony glances at the frosting and wonders how long it will take her to notice it.

"Marketing firms like them because it means they get their way because focus testing 'shows how the people feel'. Luckily Stark Industries get's to avoid most focus testing. Well, used to. I mostly just ignored it and did my own thing."

Clearly not anytime in the next thirty seconds as she listens and rotates the cupcake in her hands to start in on the other side of it. She catches onto the fact that Tony's talking about having his own company pretty quick.

"I don't think one group can show what all people feel. So what does Stark Industries do?"
