The world is beating you down, I'm around through every mood

Who| Jessica & Barbie
What| Come on get down with the sickness.
Where| Tribute Center
When| During Week Three
Warnings/Notes| Bloody illness + excessive flirtation.

Jessica didn't think it was possible to feel this awful. As the weeks had worn on, she'd gone from mildly uncomfortable with her springtime cold to downright delirious. The nights without sleep, waking up in pools of sweat had taken their toll, and not only was she tired from coughing, but also just from the lack of rest. She felt like a wreck and she looked it, too.

After holing up in the District Three suites for the first week of the arena, she finally had to face the music that she needed help when her coughs turned bloody. Wearing her raggediest pair of pajamas, she somehow managed to get to the main elevator, intent on sucking it up long enough to get to the pop-up clinic on the ground floor of the Tribute Center. She didn't trust Wesker, Penny, or Zoidberg, but there had to be something someone could do to help her sleep.

"That, I can promise." He didn't intend to be gone long. Just long enough to get her what she needed and maybe run back to his room for a book or something while he sat with her. Otherwise, he didn't intend to be anywhere else but right here with her.

He leaned over and pressed a kiss to her forehead, a soft smile only for her on his face.

"Yeah, keep saying it and maybe it'll sink in." His smile turned into a smirk but it melted back to something softer soon enough. "Come on, get some sleep and the sooner you do, the sooner I'll be right back here. Plus, you need it."

He could see her trying to put on that 'look' of hers and didn't have the heart to tell her it wasn't that effective when all he wanted to do was wrap her in a blanket. Although, even with her sickly pale complexion, dark circles under her eyes and sweaty, he still saw the beautiful young girl he'd first met. She'd get back to that and back on her feet soon enough, he'd make sure of it.
