Patient Zero Plot

[OOC: patients, post a subthread and one of the doctor characters will be with you shortly. Feel free to specify if you want one in particular.]

In a city as monitored as the Capitol, that a mystery disease was going around didn't escape notice for more than a few days. That both Victory Hannibal and Chris Traeger such a production of their 'impending death of the plague' didn't help it stay under wraps, either.

As such, a clinic of sorts has been set up inside the Tribute Center. Tributes, Mentors and anyone else associated with the Games are taken aside at random and given check-ups. Avoxes are given lists of prescriptions to help any sufferers alleviate symptoms, and the doctors and scientists on staff (recruited by Peacekeeping Headquarters right now) are given relatively free reign to take whatever tests they need to find the name of the illness and kill it.

Currently, it is staffed by Penny, Wesker and Zoidberg.

"Neurotechnology and things. All the things except epidemiology." He actually holds still for his blood to be drawn and all those pesky vitals. Of course he can't guarantee that if someone asks him to turn his head and cough he won't die while doing it.

"I could have made some who would cure this thing like that." Topher tries to snap his fingers, but gives up after a few tries.

Carlos would keep the conversation up throughout the tests, taking Topher's blood and Topher's temperature and x-rays of Topher's chest and swabs of Topher's throat. He also gets a sample of that nasty gunk Topher is coughing up from deep in his lungs.

"I'm sorry, you could have made what?"

"You. Me. Again. Always have a back-up of your back-up." He wasn't making much sense, but considering the pain relievers he'd been given, combined with his body's sensitivity to such things, Carlos was lucky that Topher had yet to completely pass out. "We are all machines and I am the Great Engineer."

"Are you speaking metaphorically or scientifically?" asked Carlos, maneuvering the x-ray machine into position. "That sounds a lot like a metaphor, but given everything I've observed, I can't be sure it's not."

"Science." Topher managed to be still long enough for the machine to do it's job. "Always science, Mr. Science. Or is it Mr. Hair? Mr. Fancy Hair with his Fancy X-Ray." He suddenly felt very tired and decided that whatever was going on was not more important than him having a nice, long nap. "Just...just wake me when someone needs a Treatment."

Carlos flushed, a little bit; there was nothing fancy about his hair. It just happened to be this way. So Carlos responded the way he always responded when people commented on his hair: he pretended he hadn't heard anything.

"I'll do that," he said, unsure if Topher meant a treatment for his own disease, or something else.
