Mindy didn't want anyone seeing her like this: defeated, bleeding, fatherless (again) and, in her opinion, useless. The rescue of Ian defaulted, Guy was fucked with, and dad they "took away" with no explanation of why. Added to that, she was Azula's piece of the pie, fighting and beating her. She LOST to someone she hated, and no one could swallow the shame of that easily, least of all Mindy Macready. The fight? Awesome. Losing? Not so much.

The Games had started already so all of her friends were gone to defend themselves. The Capitol was abuzz with activity, but Mindy found, in a time as desperate as this, that being a winner was a curse.

She had no thrill, and she felt...alone, truly alone now. She would have been happy to pal with Ellie or Guy or Clementine, but they were gone. All that was left was her by herself. Added to that, the Capitol's sick sense of humor bringing her dad back and opening wounds just to take him back again when she was getting used to seeing him.

For the first time in awhile, Mindy felt really alone.
