I'm really not sure if I'm floating or drowning here.
WHO| Tony Stark, and anyone who can see him!
WHAT| Tony is not really loving this whole kidnapping death match thing
WHEN| 11th of the May
WHERE| Several locations in the tower
WARNINGS| References to the end of Winter Soldier but it's only a spoiler if you haven't seen it or Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. But you can avoid it by not reading what Tony's doing/thinking on the roof

[District 12's floor]
After Tony had told the Gamemakers what they could do with their evaluations and had been left in his room with a communicator and a credit card, he stood in his room for a moment staring at both. Then after a moment he dispassionately drops the card on the bedside table and starts turning the communicator over in his hands.
Sure it wasn't the first time he was taken away from what he knew and threatened with death, really it's starting to become a major theme in his life, he's had better themes to be honest, just as destructive, but on the whole more fun. However this was the first time he was kidnapped, given an allowance and technology. He isn't sure if it's amature, or cocky but he's not going to pass it up. Frowning a little Tony pockets the communicator then starts looking through his room as he runs a hand through his hair now and then. Clothes, Shoes, a remote (Which he also pockets) but no much else. Frowning at what he's found he leaves the room and turns his attention to ferreting his way around the floor as a whole, for now he's staying out of the bedrooms but if he can't find so much as a screw driver, very narrow knife or a broad fork he's going to invade privacies.
But as it is, right now he needs what he knows, and that's playing with tech, and he's probably not being quiet in his looking as he loudly moves things about and mutters to himself.
[Central Commons - Cocktail Bar]
After his attacking of his floor for something to do, Tony started to feel a little claustrophobic and found his way to the bar, something else that was familiar enough to act as a calming agent. You know what Tony also finds calming? Scotch. When he orders, he doesn't even realise it's free, he's just assumed they've given him an automatic tab, which for him isn't unusual.
He contemplates the two neat amber fingers in the glass then toasts the air.
"Here's to kidnappers with a resort and open bar."
He takes a drink and takes in who's wandering around the bar, feeling the twinge of homesickness. It's weird being held hostage but not you know being threatened with pain if you don't build a weapon for them while being allowed to apparently roam free for the moment.
[Roof]
The homesickness got to him for a while so after just idely riding the elevator with no purpose, Tony takes it up to the roof. It's about as quite as a roof top in a large city can be and if he closes his eyes he can almost pretend he's standing on the landing pad back in New York, Pepper listing the names of S.H.I.E.L.D agents who have jumped that sneaky ship and are banging on his doors for work.
He runs a hand over his face and huffs, he really needs to quit being a hypocrite with all this sentimentality of his. He walks to the edge and looks down seeing what little he can of the busy streets.
Tony let's his mind tick back to when he was told that he had been selected for a battle to the death.
"If this is going to involve swords, and war horses then I am in a lot of trouble."
He could probably use another drink. Actually, what he could really use is Pepper.

Sighing. That's how Natasha knows she's frustrated. It doesn't show physically, but through metaphors.

Almost wanting to feel frustrated himself, instead he just gives an impassive look. While he might be willing to give people chances, he's never really been big on trusting anyone. Even less after Obie's betrayal.

Teasingly said as she continues to watch him intently, studying every bit of his face in order to try to read him. He's younger than she recalls, completely oblivious to their past relationship, and who knows how volatile? Cultivating him into an ally she can use later on will take some work.
"Not many people trust me." There's believing that she'll come through to save their asses in the end and then there's trusting her to not to write down what underwear they wear.
The former is easy enough for most to believe. She's a capable combatant and can sneak into most buildings. It's the second one that causes people to show a lack of faith in her, not that she can blame them. There are good reasons behind not trusting her, but none she's shown so willingly.
"It's getting late, Tony."

He teases back. While his face is fairly expressive on it's own, it's really Tony's eyes that give away anything. Which is usually why his spends his time outside wearing glasses or focusing on an object instead of peoples faces because he knows his eyes are traitors.
"Well that just makes me more special then, doesn't it? Well, more than normal." There are enough videos on YouTube of Tony showing off his own underwear, so really he doesn't have to worry about trusting her with that knowledge. Looking at his watch when Natasha points out the time then drains his glass slowly.
"Got seniors water ballet in the morning I assume?"
If there's one thing Tony will always do, it's pick on people who look younger than him but are older than him because of their age.

"If you're a good boy, I'll show you some real dance moves in the future." Ironically spoken considering at one point she does do that with her world's Tony, but no point in spoiling his fun. Sure he's ready to hear all about how he doesn't get the girl and screws up everything in the world over and over again. "I do know ballet after all."
Rising to her feet and stretching out, it appears she's finished with their conversation for now unless he chooses to do as he does and ignore the universal signs.

"I've always enjoyed the Russian Ballet when it's in town." He smirks. "So, I'm going to be looking forward to that." He drains his glass and looks at it contemplatively.
"After this whole death match thing. There should be" He makes a gesture with the hand holding the glass that's vague and not really helpful. "Dinner. Or lunch? You know with us."
He gestures again as if to say the avengers they know were here, but could also be implied to mean just them, sometimes his vague gestures are on purpose, incase people think he actually cares.

Natasha murmurs knowing damn well she doesn't actually have friends here, just peers who she respects enough to either trust with her life or not kill them in return. Friendship is a difficult concept for her, but she's not going to tell Tony Stark During His Drunken Years any of that.
"You planning a party? Throw an invitation my way at District 8 and I'll check it out."
no subject
He rolls his shoulders a little, ending them in a shrug. Still trying to not make the offer sound any more than it is, people with a 'shared' past eating together. Really that's all it is, nothing more. At all.
"Then I'll make sure to keep you in the know."
no subject
Nothing more at all, huh? The look on her face says she thinks otherwise. Why, she might even be excited at the prospect of a dinner date with Tony Stark.
"My age might start to show."
no subject
He looks amused at her, then gives a little shake of the head.
"I promise, I am many things. But I am not a man who keeps a woman waiting."
no subject
He'll do for now. "Let's catch up later, Mister Stark."
no subject
"Sleep well, Miss Romanov"
He gives her a nod and a tip of the glass to add to his good bye.
