The speakeasy was a classy joint. Wood panels, and soft velvet, and usually some kinda of live music, something mellow and easy to relax to. It was big, with low ceilings and with many back rooms, some easy to access, others less so. Easy to get lost in. And it gave off an air of class, of comfort, and being a part of something a little different from the rest. The kinda place where everybody knew your name, and everybody knew to be discreet about it.

It was the perfect place to grab a drink, sit, talk, and relax. No one over heard you, no one got in your business, but everyone was glad to talk if you wanted to find a friendly face. The owner, Conscientia, made her round every now and then, saying hello to her regulars, welcoming those who were new.

Cinna frowned thoughtfully, uncertain if he was understanding the question correctly. "How do you mean? They aren't doing their jobs?"

[polyturtle]

"Uh, well...no." Don sighed. "I've pretty much been dressing myself. Other than the Arenas, my Stylist...doesn't even bother with me. And...well, after what happened last Arena, my Stylist runs from me the moment I come into the room."

[setfires]

Cinna pressed his lips together. He managed to keep his expression thoughtful rather than irritated. He disliked Stylists who didn't do their job. Impression was everything to get sponsors and if you didn't have good Style you didn't have a good impression. "Have you spoken to your mentor about it?"

[polyturtle]

"Well, I've not been able to speak to my mentor much in general, unfortunately." Don frowned. "It's not that Sheperd doesn't care, the problem is that she...tends to be called out a lot by the Capitol, being the first Arena Victor and all."

That's what the excuse was, at least. But both he and Sheperd had been high scorers, so he couldn't help but suspect that there was possibly more to the Capitol's busy schedule for her than just that.

[setfires]

"Your mentor would have to be the one to request a Stylist change, and then the complaint would have to be extremely clear. It would help if you had sponsors to back up your claim..."

[polyturtle]

"Uh, well..."

Thoughts of the drunk rich girls came to mind as Don sheepishly looked up. Of course, he knew they weren't the only ones, but they had made it very clear before the Arena that they were his absolute biggest fans ever and no one had better forget it!

"Actually, I do have...people who I know have sponsored me in the past...so I should talk to them as well?"

[setfires]

"You shouldn't. Your mentor should. Unless you think it would be a good idea for you to go?"

[polyturtle]

"...Well..." Don thought about it for a moment, then nodded. "Probably my mentor should, then. I just have to catch her when she's not busy."

[setfires]

"Does she give you the impression of being too busy for you?"

[polyturtle]

"Well, it's..." Don though for a moment. "A little. But I don't think she's doing it purposefully."

[setfires]

"She should be working to make that shell of yours a fashion statement," Cinna commented lightly. He generally didn't like to comment about other Stylists, but he felt like this was a missed chance. "Children should be looking to get their own built into their clothing. Maybe you should bring that up to her?"
