Choose your own Azuladventure
Who: Azula and you
What: Azula's in a great mood, last call to train with her, get advice or just have some lunch before the next arena.
Where: Around the Capitol and Tribute Tower.
When: After Enjolras Expose
Notes: It's Azula, she's in a good mood. That can't be good.
There were few things in life she liked better then watching those she hated suffer.
And knowing that Enjolras was no longer going to be comfortable in the Capitol while their tributes were fighting and dying in the arena made her so happy she was practically glowing.
And so she went about her business in this joyful and buzzing manner, a nice healthy and balanced breakfast, followed by the training hall.
Lunch in a trendy cafe where she could take meetings, followed by a casual stroll through a botanical garden.
Today would be a good day.
And hopefully the start of many good days to come.

Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
"Perhaps he'll receive some sort of comfort in knowing he now suffers alongside his country men." She chuckled "Or even consider being more subtle about his opinions."
One could only hope.
"The wheels of justice may be slow, but they can be absolutely crushing."
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
He sighs, like he's thinking of 'good old days'. Indeed his face is nostalgic. "CHANGES AND SAMENESS," He says. "Used to crush motherfuckers like he. SAY TRUE AS THE TRUEST IN HIS PUMP. Snap the jaws. FLASH THE MOTHERFUCKING CLAWS. Those what did not practice as preached. THOSE WHAT DID THEIR DUE AS DECEIVER, DENIERS, MOTHERFUCKING TRADUCERS, AND DEFILERS, HYPOCRITES AND TRAITORS TO THEIR OWN. They all met their ends. THEY ALL SQUEALED AND SCREAMED AND SCURRIED IN THE END. Thinking themselves martyrs still like the title be so damn pretty, making themselves such not for no true reason but to appease some sick thing within. THERE AIN'T NOTHING PRETTY ABOUT SUCH A MARTYR, LET HIM TELL. He has seen the shit what make them up and their insides shine just the same as any other and they ain't pretty until they're up and wallsmeared with their bretheren. THAT IS WHAT HE USED TO THINK."
He nods, solemn suddenly. He takes another drink, shorter than before. He continues, "But every so damn often, sister, you'd get one. ONE WHAT MEANS IT. One what drank the wine and ate the ambrosial sick. THEY BLEED THE TOMES AND TONES AND TOLES OF THAT WHAT THEY FOLLOW. They mean every last word, and you up and know something sister? THEY TRIED HARDEST AS TO LIVE MORE OFTEN THAN FUCKING NOT. If not in physical, if not in attempt, you could see the soul struggle inside. AND HE NEVER FUCKING ACKNOWLEDGED UNTIL TIMES LATE. He put it from pan, put it from memory." He's shaking a hand. He's seeing through her, to some distant thing, as he nods again.
He refocuses again, finding her and himself in the present. The world that is the capitol. He could almost imagine himself back on Alternia for the briefest moment. Truth told, he isn't sorry to leave it. "THE CEASELESS WHEEL TURNING. The thing what they have in common. IS THAT THEY DO NOT CEASE TO APPEAR. They keep... coming... back. IT IS INSANITY ABSOLUTE AND UNENDING." He leans back once more. He smirks wryly, knowing. "Take your joys now, wicked sister, where they are well earned. DRINK UP EVERY LAST DROP. Or else you'll drive yourself just as mad, being the wheel what represents."
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
"I don't know much about souls, but I know sure enough that Enjolras has willingly lay down his life time and time again to little effect. I'm amazed he won in the first place." She explained once again.
"But it doesn't matter. If being a martyr makes him happy I don't mind so long as he's a tribute and not making my job more difficult as a mentor. At least as a tribute he's got more on his mind then irritating the upper crust of the Capitol. Though being a tribute won't protect him if the Capitol decides he's no longer entertaining." Oh she could only dream of such a day.
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
"TRUEST TRUTHS. Though he himself does get a surprise to him. HE SETS EXAMPLE FOR THOSE OF HIS TYPE AND LIKENESS, HE DOES. And he is sure you know too. MOTHERFUCKING AMAZED IS HE THAT THEY ONLY JUST GOT TO THINKING OF IT IT. Perhaps it ain't often done here, lest he be incorrect, to put motherfuckers back in."
He looks to her, to see if she will illuminate such to him. One way or other.
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
"For all we know they could have been putting it off because they had more important tasks to tend to. But because they keep their reasoning so close to their chest and they have so many public relation experts to filter the message we may never know the truth."
Something that would be more irritating if she actually cared.
"I've tried since I returned to being a mentor to petition and question them for answers on various things and I'm usually met with a carefully worded excuse or worse, absolute silence."
It just felt disrespectful.
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
"THEY'RE WEAK," He concludes, staring down at his soda. "If they were stronger, there'd be no question all of if they could get the fuck away with it. THE WIGGLERS WHAT ALL THEY WOULD SEND THROUGH ROUND AND FUCKING ROUND. Culled but one and forgotten. THE ONE BEING YOU MOTHERFUCKING MENTORS. You take a spotlight, a fucking shine." He taps a small rythym along the table edge. They match to the turning of gears behind his eyes.
"BUT WITH US, IT BE OVERSHADOWED. We who return over and motherfucking over. TO EASE THE TENSIONS STRUNG TIGHT, OUR KIND DOST BE ELIMINATED RANDOM. But upon those lingering, those kept so long, arises issue anew. AS SO BE WITH HE, ENJOLRAS. Distraction, distraction, distraction. FOR ONLY SO DAMN MANY CAN BE CLUNG TO. It will come to snapping point if drawn too long. THEN ALL IF THEY WANT FOR A TRUE MOTHERFUCKING MEANS OF SHOWING HIS TYPE WHAT MUST BE LEARNED, HE'D BE CULLED. But in doing so, the Capitol people what laud him are incited into the harsh noise. THEY DO SO IN SILENCE, THEY RISK AT FOR THOSE WHAT BE OF HIS TYPE SINGING THEIR SONG LOUDER. Like a beast with cut head, more arise of it."
His own world was more... honest, he thinks. Upfront. Everyone culled and you would damn know everyone culled. Power was obvious. The use of it clear. But it was always, always effective. The set shit predestined aside, there were still so damn many securing factors what all couldn't be dodged and ducked around. They all did trials immediately after pupation and it was accepted. Treason was wiped out and no one asked why; it was because of treason. The mystery could be fun, true, but that wasn't how Alternia ran.
"SOLUTIONS SIMPLE OF COURSE, BUT IT COMES TO QUESTION IF ALL THEY'D PREFORM SUCH." He smirks wryly, looking at her again at last. "Pardon him, he forgets how much politic be allowed in this place. IF TOO MUCH HAS MADE AT TO BE SAID, HE SHALL TAKE LEAVE ON HER ASKING."
And he watches her carefully, to see what his words have brought. Just a foot in the door perhaps. A little twitch. Anything.
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
"It's hard to imagine them making a mistake." She begins, "So many of the brightest minds our world has to offer work for the Capitol after all. And they have the most power of any organization that exists. They defy death itself."
Setting her glass down again she met his eyes.
"So it stands to reason the only thing they had to fear before was numbers. Brute force can overcome intelligence and superior equipment if you have enough force behind it. So the force of the people if they actually bought into the garbage Enjolras spewed would be a threat...but a small one."
"It becomes a matter of how hard they want to work to keep the status quo. They could very easily subjugate every man woman and child to the greatest degree. But misery breeds contempt and rebellion. It would be harder for them to keep an iron grip if everyone were as miserable as the tributes and the districts are."
This she said softly so they wouldn't be overheard.
"I am not so blind, I have not drank so much of their wine and swallowed so many of their pills that I am unaware of the plight of people outside of the Capitol but I still believe that some people, even out in the districts are simply better then others. Just as I rose above my status in the district to become a mentor they two can work hard and rise above wherever they were born in their life."
She was also aware that these things were uncommon and nearly impossible the further out in the districts you got.
"Now that they have resorted to bringing in forces from outside our world they have new threats to worry about." She continued, "Magic specifically is something we do not have in this world. And if suddenly all the tributes were allowed their full powers all the time..." She didn't dare look away from his eyes to hint that she suspected even her training and skill would be no match against what he had lurking just beneath the skin.
"Well whatever would happen would surely be violent and messy. And the Capitol only likes violent and messy when it's in an arena they can control."
This conversation had taken a very serious turn, but Azula was much more willing to indulge the Initiate as he was one of the tributes who showed her the respect she worked so hard to deserve.
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
On her comment, when she meets his eyes to suggest he could take this entire fucking world apart if he had his power, he merely smirks and smiles. Oh wicked sister. He already knows. It's not in him to imagine anything terrible of the calamity what would come. It's far too amusing. Capitol already up and knows of his blood thirst.
"Truth told, sister, he believed such too," He says. "TO RISE ABOVE. To take what is deserved rightfully. HE HAS ALWAYS SEEN HIMSELF TO BE ONE WHAT WORKED FOR SUCH AND HAVE GAINED IT BY HIS OWN HANDS. As you know of he."
He remembers their first meeting. She sought to taunt him while he was bound to throne, and she, throneless. And from there he wrapped her round.
He'd come far from that. And he likes to think, so has she.
He's sure. He's so in reach he can get on tasting it, that he's got her. He just needs the right time, the chance and means to get it to her.
Burn it down. Burn it all as you did your arena. Let lightening strike down those what are left. Take our glory, take our freedom
They had the intelligence. The equipment too if they can get the thirteenth district on their side he's sure of it. If they get the power? They'll win. Without question they'd win.
"IT'S JUST A MATTER OF THE WANT BAD THE FUCK ENOUGH," He continues. "Was surprised to learn of your war like to be a mere seventy five years prior. MAYBE THIRY SOME ODD SWEEPS? You know what that is for his blood? A BLINK, SISTER. A closing of the motherfucking eyes. PALTRY NOTHINGS. He ain't even thirty near yet and this he knows. THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF GENERATIONS OF THOSE OF HIS BLOOD AND THEN FUCKING SOME. His empire has been around for motherfucking Millenia. THE CAPITOL HAS FOR POWER, INTELLIGENCE, ALL THE LIKE, AND THEIR SPECIAL GIFTS. This it up and has. BUT THE CAPITOL IS NAUGHT BUT A SQUALLING INFANT. It will be some time, he thinks, before it is grown. SHOULD BE INTERESTING WHAT TO WATCH. Who rises in standing and who never rises again. LIKE A GREAT FLOWER MADE ALL TO BLOOM."
He smiles then. It's almost sweet. Except for that it is his face that wears it. "He does so enjoy our talks, Azula. YOU INDULGE HIM SO."
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
A smile played on her lips at his addition.
"Well of course. As your mentor I have your best interests in heart. And as respectful and hard working as you are for me, you deserve the same from me." Which was far more then most mentors offered. Too many of them had been broken by losing time and time again.
Azula had side stepped that process.
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
Next time, he thinks. Next time, I will find a way. I will make you see, and let you hear true word of what is to come.
"YOU'VE BECOME A GREAT ALLY TO HIM," He tells her. "He ain't tend to say so often. AIN'T IN NATURE OF MY KIND. Ours is the culling of all. YOU STAND TESTAMENT TO THE OPPOSING."
He gives a hum. An idle tap of his fingers. Then he stops, and with his eyes down he asks, "What do you consider of your allies, sister?"
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
She could count on one hand the people in this world she trusted. Her mentor Indiana, Diana, possibly Hans, maybe Wesker...and of course this Troll.
"I am very picky about the allies I allow close to me." She explained. "They almost always are spectacular in some way, and intelligent enough that I don't have to play down to them." Though if she were honest with herself she enjoyed the submission of some stupid people.
"It's only recently I actually started to care about my allies." she added "I've always been a people person, but now I think I may be risking affection." She chuckled.
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
His chuckles shake his shoulders. They pull at his grin.
But all the same, Messiahs does he know what she means. He gets it and he gets for it all well.
"The damning of us all when we start to fall to the darker whims of the pusher," He hums, still joking, but more softness slipping in accidental with feelings fond. "LET US SPEAK NOT OF SINNERS."
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
"Well if that were the case we wouldn't speak at all. I don't know anyone who can claim to be free of sin." Even the weakest most peace loving tribute had some kind of sin lingering inside.
"But of course, the worst of sins are punished by fate before the Capitol can reach them."
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
"She is correct. OF COURSE," He says. "He's always considered it as for who all seeks salvation true. FAITHS AS WHOLE DON'T SERVE THE HOLY. The holy will serve themselves. IT US WHAT NEED FAITH SO WE MAY FIND OUR TRUE PATHS. And so it is us what must serve the wicked word for our own saving. AND SO THE PUNISHMENTS DONE ON FATE'S DOING. Why it is the Messiahs breath on our breath, their hands on our hands. A LAUGH DONE UP IN AURICULAR. If only sinners will here it."
He closes his eyes and shakes his head. The chuckle on his breath is more wry this time. "MOTHERFUCK HE MISSES CHURCH."
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
"Well we could always take you around to the other churches and see if any of them come close to the one you miss." She mused "I highly doubt it, but it might make for good publicity to see you embracing the culture of humans."
"Of course if you win I'm sure your crowning ceremony will be every bit as elaborate and colorful as the church services you've described."
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
He's quickly looking down again, fangs pulling back as his lips purse to a line. "I AM A FAITHFUL SERVANT TO THE MESSIAHS, SISTER. The Messiahs and the cult of Messiahs alone. WOULD BE SACRILEGE," He says. "And you know true he ain't good for no embracing shit, the only proper wrapping around he's for is the snap of throatstem. HE'S THE BEST MOTHERFUCKING TROLL WHAT THE LOT OF YOU GOT HERE. That ain't go synonymous with best human."
Claudia had tried the same thing before. Build him an image like he wasn't what all he was. Got her gumption for wanting the cut of his hair again so as to make him seem as youthful as he secretly really was that no one else got a notice for. Try to make him seem less than what he was like his age took away anything of his power. Their best bet was selling him as the Alien (monster) he was to them, even if it had been a while now. It's not like they'd learned anything more of him. He was still just as alien. And truth up and said, he found the appealing to media tiresome. She probably knew this by now.
He takes the bite of topic altered. "WHEN ALL HE DOES WIN-" Whenever he finally decided to. "-MAYBE HE OUGHT JUST THROW CHURCH SERVICE UP INSTEAD. Get the wicked word sprung forth to the empty pans and pumpers for true." That could be entertaining. He knew a hundred bits of scripture old that could roughly be translated to 'fuck you all'. The capitol wouldn't know for better. No one would. There ain't a single other indigo here.
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
"Most would probably join you simply out of your status as a victor. I'm sure that's not the kind of dedication you desire but it's better then nothing." she mused "Just mind what you say in your sermons. We don't want you ending up like Enjolras." She chuckled "As if you would ever be as foolish."
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
When you already live in paradise... How hard did he work, did his whole damn kind work for that? How long have they wanted, how many wars... how many times did he curse the Signless and his lot for fooling trolls with intangible heavens? How many times has he prayed to the Messiahs, the only true gods, for a paradise that he knew and accepted wouldn't come until after his time had run its course? His entire species died twice over, and paradise was still being fought for by the last remainders; Terezi, his own descendant, The Signless's...
And these people just DIDN'T MOTHERFUCKING CARE? Did they not see that this was no true paradise, did they not find it in their souls the want for saving and serving of the holy towards the great end?
Of course not.
He looks down, eyes boring a hole through the table and claws grinding just a little as he forces himself to stay in the moment enough the already-orange of his eyes doesn't progress to being any darker. He feels as though he's swallowed a burning star.
"OF COURSE, SISTER," He says, words stiffer and harder than the normal flow and crest. Like 'yes, sir', 'yes, maam', 'of course he will take on the mission to serve the empire with his whole life and soul without utterance of disparagement, of course he will burn his hive down eventual, of course he will bow to Her Imperious Condescension's mere motherfucking propaganda poster, Of course his better-thans can spit upon his name'. "He knows how and when all to keep a motherfucking trap slapped. HIS THROATSTEM WILL BEAR NOT BUT TRUTHS. But he is always careful. HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN MOTHERFUCKING AWARES ON WHAT STEPS STOMP TOO MOTHERFUCKING FAR."
He doesn't want anything to do with their empty soul-less churches. Their forsaken faiths. He's spent enough of his life trying to vanquish a damning false god.
"It ain't possible he'd end like Enjolras. THAT MOTHERFUCKER'S KIND PARTICULAR IS OPPOSITE TO HIS OWNSELF'S." He intends to win.
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
"You are clever, well spoken, powerful and most importantly unique." She praised him. "And I would have you be in no other district."
A surprisingly genuine smile.
"Some day you will make an excellent mentor to less skilled tributes."
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
"He hopes to make you proud then, Sister, and continue to do so," He says. He finishes his drink and rises up. "AND IN SPEAKING OF SUCH, HE HAS TO GO SEE TO IT HIS LEGACY DON'T END. They've brought his descendant, he's sure you know. HAVE TO MAKE SURE THE FUCKER DON'T GET HIS ASS CULLED ONE WAY OR OTHER."
He bows to her, and he actually does so for its meaning.
"Lest she wishes to join him, he shall see her flip side," he laughs.
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
It was only a shame she didn't feel the same way about her family.
"It's a pleasure, as always."
Re: Lunch at Rainbow Gardens
In a terrible sort of way.
And to have them taken...
"NEVER," He says, realising he means it as he does. Family in the Carnival, family in the church. Family in blood. And then, "A pleasure true indeed."
