Three days now and Lindsey was still sore over losing the silly competition. True that he hadn't paid it much mind when he was first told about it, also true that he never thought that he was going to make it so far to the end, but to lose it after being made to kill his own brother and be one of the last few remaining seemed a poor way to end it.

With a gin and tonic in hand, Lindsey paid the serving avox no mind as he watched people come and go from the open cocktail bar. Maybe tomorrow he'll venture out into the city.

"You're asking the wrong person," Lindsey said as he jerked a thumb over to his brother. "I've only been here for one game. He's been here longer than me."

Eliot nodded. "To one degree or another. Depends on who's around and what's goin' on in the Capitol."

"Great so just a little slice of hell in the whole loony bin and the nutcases are in charge aren't they?"

"This? Nah, Hell's less crazy... but I guess it depends on which Hell you're talking about." Lindsey smiled wide in a way that made it hard to tell if he was serious or joking.

"And depends on how ya define nutcase."

"Anyone not kidnapped for their entertainment?"

[hartless_cowboy]

"That's a lot of people." Lindsey grinned and reclined back as he pointed out, "So nope. Most of those aren't in charge."

"Although some of them are unique enough," Eliot couldn't resist adding. "Styles here are rather like Parker when she's playing a Lady Gaga wanna be as a decoy."

"I know some are unique." He quirked a brow. "Who's Lady Gaga?"

And since Lindsey had been time skipped several years from his twin, he looked just as lost as Chris, except he did a better job at hiding it. "You explain," he directed Eliot in a smooth way to cover his own ignorance.

"She's a crazy pop star back home," he said, shaking his head. "If ya don't know who she is count yourself lucky. She wore a dress made out of meat once, she's that insane."

Chris quirked a brow at Eliot.

"And she gets away with it? Always figured those damned tree huggers and their vegetarian ways would have taken over in the future." Something he wasn't looking forward to EVER let him keep his steak damn it!

That was news to Lindsey too. His snort of disbelief wasn't far from Chris' observation. "I can think of a lot of things who'd love to snack on Lady Gaga." A suit of meat. He knew lots of things that'd snack on a pop star with less.

"She'd probably enjoy that." Eliot laughed. "And that dress was just asking to be turned into a pot roast."

"And here I thought the worst we'd see is Madonna... Wait no people who wear parachute pants in public... that's got to be the worst style." Poor Chris, he hasn't seen kids with their jeans below their asses yet.

Lindsey's glance to Chris was one of incredible amusement. "Madonna? What are we, Back to the Future?"

Eliot shook his head with a hint of a smile. "What year are ya from?"

"Hey, it was her or Hammer okay?" He retorted to Lindsey. "1998, Late summer if you want to get that technical."

That was more recent than Lindsey though, but he snorted anyway. "I don't think time really matters here besides dating out far in history you were pulled here from. For all we know, your 1998 might not be the same as our 1998."

Eliot shrugged. "Either way, he hasn't had to hear the crap she calls music," he retorted. "Because that was a while before she made her big debut. One of the things I'd change if I could go back in time."
