A rescue plot

Who| Ian and anyone involved in:
What| Plotting Ian G's rescue
Where| Around the tribute tower
When| Right after Ian G's plea (during the mini-arena)
Warnings/Notes| This is the IC plotting post. The OOC plotting is here, but you can still be involved even if you haven't volunteered there. Anyone who wants to speak to Ian directly about the rescue can do so here, and also speak to each other too. You don't have to participate in the IC plotting in order to go on the rescue.

Ian saw the plea on the televisions - it was hard not to, even though he wasn't particularly keen on watching people kill each other in another arena. It had made his blood run cold and for a minute all he could do was stand looking at the television with his mouth open, even though it was now showing commercials.

And then he swore. Which was not something he did often, but the situation definitely called for it. His small rebellion had got someone else into trouble, which was something he hadn't anticipated and definitely not something he'd wanted. He had to do something before they tortured Ian.

There was one clear course of action - rescue. They'd have taken Ian to the same place they'd taken him and he knew where that was. And the arena going on was a good distraction - he had to move fast. He went around the tribute tower looking for tools he could use as weapons, but wouldn't be spotted as weapons.

Eponine had pushed Mindy away, baring her Capitol-produced 'flipper' at the girl in an effort to make her back off. Eponine was done. She was done with people telling her how to behave. She listened impatiently to Carlos and Ian, glaring at both men as they spoke.

"Then we go now." Eponine was quite decisive. She looked without fear in the direction of the tall building. Let them see. She really didn't care any more. Maybe they'd kill her alongside Ian: she couldn't stand to lose yet another person to them whilst being left behind herself.

"Come. We'll lie to the guards and we shall rescue Ian. Where is Madame Jessica? We go now."

"WE DON'T go now," Mindy barked, clearly annoyed. "We need a little more to go on than that. What are we sporting to help us? Even if getting in is easy, staying hidden and getting where we have to isn't. Let's at least get this coordinated. We ought to know who can do what, to start."

Carlos barely told them anything, and it'd be pretty stupid to start making plans right in front of the building. That would look more suspicious than what they were doing right now.

"I agree," said Carlos, businesslike. "Eponine, this operation will have an exponentially higher chance of success if we know how to use the devices that Ian's brought. We need to be careful, or else we'll all just be caught, too."

He shifted closer to his co-conspirators: if they were fairly close together and were discreet, they might be able to block the view of the cameras around them with their bodies.

"What do you have?" he asked Ian.

"All right," Mindy said, looking satisfied. At least they had a place to start. For the moment she wasn't going to ask him where he got something like that: obviously Ian himself was ill equipped to handle such technology.

"So let's break this down then. We want to make sure that we know who's doing what, and we can distribute whatever accordingly. Someone's gotta have a diversion, someone's gotta hit the vents and get intel, and through that we can have the means to get down there and get Ian out. Any ideas?"

"I can't use that." Eponine said flatly, staring at the devices. She hated admitting she didn't know something. "I do not understand what you said. But I can get in anywhere. I am silent. I am a pickpocket, no? I have been taught by the most feared gang in Paris. I shall find Ian and get him out."

Not the least because, despite everything, she wasn't sure if she trusted Mindy and Carlos to get Ian out without him getting hurt. And he couldn't get hurt.

"No, you don't. But I do. That's why I'm talking about this in the first place. So I'll lead, since there's going to be more there than just a bunch of guards and some sneaking. You stay close, if we need a pickpocket, you know what to do. Getting Ian out is probably not going to be a one person job."

When it got right down to it, considering the recent temper tantrum Mindy definitely did NOT trust Eponine to lead him out. The "most feared gang in Paris" hadn't had to deal with the tech they did now, nor was Mindy in particular without sneak skills herself.

"I can use them, too," said Carlos. "Well, we don't have time to come up with a better plan, and I certainly can't think of one. Come on, let's go, before we look any more suspicious than we already do."

He would take the tech from Ian, and he would go.
