WHO| Everyone in the Capitol
WHAT| A must attend events, as the game start to come to their peak.
WHEN| Mid-way through week four
WHERE| A warehouse on the edge of town.
WARNING/NOTES| Alcohol, drugs, possible more. Crazy partying. If your tribute is dead this week, it is up to your discretion whether they are there or not (don't worry if you have not in game killed them, we can turn a blind idea to wiggly time lines by a day or two if you wanna jump in)

As usual, the Capitol was tactful and discreet in their party themes.

Nah.

An old warehouse had been converted for this shindig, and filled with bright violet lights that made anything pale glow vividly. Attire among the guest had taken advantage of this; pale, neon colored clothes, many made with transparent layers, and dripping with neon paint. When there were clothes at all. More than a few people had opted to just decorate themselves with paint, glowing vividly under the black lights.

The music was loud, often interwoven with air raid sirens, the place well stocked with florid cocktails treats that seemed to smolder, carried around by avoxes in gas masks. And with the right words, it was more than easy to find anything else you might like.

The couple throwing this party were known for walking just on the edge of acceptable, their parties always pushing taboos. Which made them that much more gossiped about. Still, the faces seen weren't those usually seen rubbing elbows at these things: a younger, wilder crowd.

But the hosts had made sure to drop enough cash in the right hands to be sure,
whether it was their scene or not, all their favorite tributes were there.

Large screens showed the games, though often altered in strange, bright glowing colors.  In the center was a large sculpture, filled through with it own bright green iridescent fluid, rolling around in a hypnotic, phosphorescent patterns, turning all those near is a vivid, toxic green.

Well, that made Howard's skin crawl. Not because the guy is green, or a guy, or older than him, but because Howard's suddenly, keenly reminded that sex appeal is a valuable commodity here. And if confidence is 90% of attractiveness, he doesn't have much going for him.

"We're from the same district, right?" Howard tries to look casual as he takes a drink, and not to wrinkle his nose when it turns out that this one, too, is alcoholic. "What does that mean?"

"To tell you the truth handsome, I have no idea. As far as I can tell it means they dress us up in dumb matching outfits and we get jerked around by the same handler." Lorne chuckled slightly at the face the other man made after taking a sip of his drink. He saw it a lot at Caritas, mostly demons that had never had alcohol before.

"Not a big drinker?" He took another drink of his own concoction.

"Underage," Howard says, trying to signal without actually saying that that the flattery is putting him ill at ease. "It doesn't imply any alliance or anything, does it?"

"Nope, but if you want one I'm an easy guy. To be completely honest, I really haven't been trying very hard. I would really just rather be here, so I die quick. I don't think I ever have a chance of winning." It was true, he had an edge in the arena but he lacked killer instinct, just ask his mother.

"And you're not worried they'll get rid of you when they get tired of watching you not put on a show?" That's an interesting idea. Howard would much rather die in the first few hours than stick it out longer. The sooner he gets back to the lavish food and beds here, the better.

"I don't know, the way I see it they need fodder for the other contestants." The kid did have a point though, these people did seem to be the easily board type. Maybe next time he should put up a bit more fight.

"So where ya from?" It was a good idea to make nice right? Friends were always a good thing, especially in a lace like this.

"Like when people use puppies in dogfights," Howard says darkly. He's made the same observation to Eponine. He doesn't want to be a puppy; those are disposable.

"California. What about you?" Why are you green, he doesn't ask.

"Me too, Long term resident of the city of Angels. I miss it like crazy right about now." Lorne wondered for a moment if they were from the same California, he doubted it.

"Hey, we were only maybe two hours apart, then." He doubts Lorne would know Perdido (population about 5,000), but it's good to find another native. "Not really missing it, though. We kind of got overrun by mutant animals and stuff."

Maybe they were in the same universe.

"That doesn't sound fun, not that the arena's are much different." God knows what they would have to face in the next arena. As long as it wasn't a herd of singing Roseanne Barrs he would probably be okay.

"I didn't run into mutant animals, at least. Well, I mean. Not any alive ones." He did try to eat from the carcass of a dead one, but by then the radiation poisoning made it hard to digest anything.

"What were the last arenas like?"
