Eight deaths caused by her hands (including her own) equaled eight envelopes of killmoney. Perhaps it was a bit callous for her to turn around and use it as a downpayment on robot legs, but she wasn't a mentor like Maximus. She couldn't just get them for free. And really, she was lucky to find someone willing to craft and fit them for that little upfront--although she was going to be a walking advertisement for their product now, as well as an actual advertisement in a couple days. It was better than to have to beg the rest of the money from a sponsor--she'd heard some things about what they expected in return.

She was glad, now, that she'd asked Maximus how it felt to use his mechanical leg. It had prepared her.

So now here she is, walking around on a pair of porcelain robot legs with blue detailing, wearing a skirt just far enough past her knees in length for her to really show them off. And she's definitely looking to show them off.

Wheelchair tribute is no more--Susannah's got legs and she (mostly) knows how to use them!

"Pretty well," she replies. "There's-- the stumps feel a bit odd, which I guess is 'cause of how they're attached, but it doesn't hurt, really. It's just-- odd." She peers at his face, at his blank white eyes. "You-- don't seem to have any trouble seeing them."

"That never really goes away, but you'll get used to it I think."

Her comment about his sight has him blinking. "Oh, I'm not blind. It's a genetic condition, but it causes few problems." Which he'll keep to himself in case he ever has to face Susannah in an arena, of course. Better safe than sorry.

Smart move, Albert. Smart move.

"Oh? Do you have prosthetics of your own? Were they robot ones too?"

[silberfuchs]

"I don't anymore, but I had a nearly completely cybernetic body at one time." That tight smile grows tighter; it's obviously not something he was fond of. "If you have any questions or trouble, I may be able to give insight. I hope that's not too forward, it's just a unique situation you're in and having others who share the experience may make things easier. It did for me."

"That's very kind of you, Mr Heinrich," she replies, with a smile. "I appreciate it."

[silberfuchs]

He tilts his head in acknowledgement of her thanks. "Anytime, Mrs. Dean."

Or at least he assumes they're married, given that she and Eddie have the same last name.

Well, she is the widow of another universe's Eddie Dean, but she wouldn't mind marrying this world's Eddie too, probably. And the title is correct. She smiles wider at him getting it right.

[silberfuchs]

"I suppose I should be letting you get on with your day." He gives another cordial nod, sensing from her lack of verbal response that he may have outstayed his welcome here. "I apologize if I've kept you too long. Hopefully we'll be able to chat again."

With a smile of his own he turns to go.

"I've got a bus to catch," she calls back, "but I'm sure I'll see you around!"

And then she hurries off, because she wasn't kidding about that bus.
