a little party never killed nobody
Who| Alastair Stara and Open (Come and make your own threads! Party around!)
What| Party time in the Captiol!
Where| The .infinity club
When| Late Week Six
Warnings/Notes| Excessive Partying. Well Alastair's not being excessive, but let's be real, this is the Capitol, somebody's being excessive.
[It's getting to that part of the Games where things are getting quite dramatic and heated, so the viewing parties, already popular, are starting to be packed. The popular choice is, of course, Tesserae, with its themes and games and large screens, but Alastair doesn't like it there, for various reasons, most of them rather obvious.
Instead, he's accepted an invitation to a party at .infinity, the night sky glittering with stars overhead as the guests dance and drink and talk and react appropriately to whatever's going on onscreen.
Alastair sits away from the dance floor, a partially consumed drink in his hand as he watches the screens over the bar with passing interest. As a Mentor for District 9, he's a popular guest, many people asking him questions about his opinion on this round and his favorites for winning.
Right now though, he has a moment to himself. It probably won't last long. It's getting later on in the night, and people are starting to overindulge. A lot.
Whereas Alastair's only had one and a half drinks. Tragedy.]
((OOC: If you think your character would feasibly have prior CR with Alastair, feel free to contact me and we can work something out!))

[Her laugh is high pitched and obviously fueled by alcohol.]
You know, I haven't seen you around in forever.
no subject
I'm pretty good at being sneaky.
no subject
[She gives him a questioning look, though the smile on her face is still planted.]
But seriously, how are you? You look good.
no subject
Why thank you. Not nearly half as beautiful as you, though.
And I'm as well as ever. Living the dream in the Capitol.
[Though the way he says that last sentence is a bit sarcastic. If it's a dream, it's a nightmare coated in glitter.]
no subject
I gotcha. Same old song and dance.
[He's lucky, she thinks. The Capitol is one game, the Districts are another. At least he hasn't spent the last 13 months out in the boonies, surrounded by people who despise him.]
So what brings you to this party? I'd have thought you were above this sort of scene by now.
no subject
Above? No, unfortunately I don't think I'll ever be allowed to be "above" public appearances like this. Maybe if I get old and ugly.
[He shrugs.]
Besides, I don't mind the parties, actually.
[It can be fun watching other people get drunk.]
no subject
Maybe I'm getting too old for this scene.
[Hardly. She's only 24.]
But I swear, they used to be a lot more entertaining.

[He raises his eyebrows and grins coyly.]

[Jessica pouts, then reaches for one of his arms with both of her hands.]
Come on, Alastair. I need another drink. You should buy me one.
no subject
All right, all right, if you insist.
no subject
[She flashes a mischievous grin and begins to navigate back toward the bar.]
Are you drinking? Better question: what are you drinking?
no subject
I am drinking. The bartender convinced me to take his specialty, something called a Sunslammer. It's quite good.
no subject
[She looks at him expectantly.]
no subject
There you are.
no subject
So. You're gonna mentor next round?
