Who| Kain and OPEN
What| Getting himself into action after post-revival sulking. Stabbing things, being curious about any modern stuff he's still not used to. Feel free to come at him at any point!
Where| Training facility
When| Late Week 6
Warnings/Notes| Just training, so nothing too bad. Death related thoughts (and conversation maybe).

It was unlike him to remain confined in any space for long, but that was exactly what Kain did in the first few days following his death and revival back in the Capitol. While normally he'd long for the open air and perhaps a high vantage point, he instead just... stayed in his room, kept the curtains drawn, and tried to pull himself together.

This was hardly the first he'd died, in general. It may have happened many times, in that mostly-forgotten war, and he remembered at least the last time. But it was the first time it had happened here. For some reason, he was just so agitated, upset at himself for dying in a battle he didn't care for, and for reasons he didn't support. A lot of things in that arena had messed with his head in worse ways: the masks, that creepy force who'd gotten into his head at one point. He'd be struggling with a lot of that for a while. Still, he couldn't shake the feeling of failure that came with death. It was, after all, the ultimate defeat.

Eventually, though, his old resolve returned, and he finally ventured to the one place where he could take out some of this frustration... the training facility. While there, he had two main goals:

First, Kain went right for the spears and lances, spending some time honing his de-powered technique with his favored weapon. His skill was still strong with them, and he had a lightness to his feet that came with the kind of training he'd always done. He spent quite a while stabbing ruthlessly at the targets.

The other thing he hoped to accomplish was to understand more of these strange technologies that were present in this world. He'd hoped to find a firearm, or maybe one of the other things he'd seen in the displays of that museum. But anything that looked unusual to him would do at the moment, as he wandered to look at the various stations of the facility.

After he'd recovered from his brief period of freaking out after waking up back in the Capitol post-death, Zelos decided it was prudent to spend some time down in the training facility. It wasn't that he lacked confidence in his skills, because come on, the finest swords training a Chosen could buy was no joke, and add in all the experience he got out in the field. The problem was that in the Arena, he didn't even have an opportunity to apply it.

He prided himself on being adaptable to difficult circumstances, and what happened in there was definitely not that.

Arriving at the facility, Zelos stalled near the door when he noticed someone else was already there. He stayed quiet and just watched for a few moments. The guy was familiar, he remembered talking to him over the network but never did get his name. After a few moments, he announced his presence by slowly clapping. "Wow, impressive."

"Where you had fights really similar to this," he added for him, remembering what he said before about the world he was from. It was a while ago, but he always took care to remember people he talked to. Zelos left the doorway to make his way into the room proper, taking a quick look before heading towards the racks of various weapons. "I didn't catch your name."

He looked over the weapons, and though his hand hovered over a sword for a moment, he ended up picking up an axe.

"Zelos Wilder," he answered, not looking bothered by Kain's mild hostility.

Zelos swung the axe experimentally, and ends up taking a step forward to stop himself from falling over. It had a higher center of weight than what he was used to, but in theory, it seemed simple enough to use. "Well, Kain Highwind of Wherever, do you know how to use that thing?"

He nodded towards the spear in Kain's hand.

"Me? Nah," Zelos laughed, swinging the axe again and his inexperience likely showed. "I'm a swords guy at heart, but I knew someone who used axes a lot bigger than this though!"

But it wasn't a bad idea to start learning new weapons. Whether it was an axe, a dagger, or a crowbar.
