"Yeah. Basically, uh, when the world went to shit, the Army took over the government. They've been in control ever since, so, twenty years or so? The Fireflies wanted to reinstate a democratic government, and did that by uh, blowing shit up. The Army called them terrorists." She shrugged. She loved Marlene, but she really didn't know how to feel about the group beyond that.

"They had scientists, though. Trying to find a cure. And we were trying to get out to help them. But don't uh, feel bad or whatever for me, okay? Thing I've learned here is that everything sucks pretty much everywhere."
