Who| Blaine and Kurt
What| Blaine and Kurt being Blaine and Kurt, also Blaine learns more about what's been going on back home.
Where| Kurt's room
When| Before the District Tours
Warnings/Notes| None yet!
Blaine had been spending as much time as he could with Kurt. In general, he tried not to ask about what had happened to Kurt back home and instead focused on training with Kurt. He had settled into the role of teaching Kurt how to box easily enough.
They had spent the morning doing just that and then Blaine walked Kurt back to his room. He was a little sweaty from the work out. It had broken his gel a bit, so that his hair was curling just slightly around his neck and forehead. He was planning on going back to his room to fix it after dropping Kurt off, but then Kurt had suggested he come into the suite to get some water.
Blaine felt so desperate for Kurt's presence that it was impossible to say no, not even with his hair on the line. Instead, he had disappeared into the bathroom to fix it quickly with a comb before joining Kurt in his room for some water and pieces of fruit.
"This looks good," he said with a grin as he sat by Kurt. They were alone now, no cameras and not even an Avox in sight. Blaine felt a bit ball of tension in his stomach, as he pictured what they would have done with this moment back when they were together. He still didn't know that to Kurt they weren't just back together, but had become so much more than that.

Here, though, it was just the two of them. They finally had time to just sit and be together, and he planned to fully take advantage of that. He curled up on the bed, eating an orange slice and trying not to let on how incredibly nervous he was. He had to remind himself that this was just Blaine, and he didn't have to wear a mask around him.
"So am I getting any better at fighting?" he asked, trying to start off the conversation easy.

He let his hand linger there for a moment, not wanting to break that contact.

"Hey Blaine?" His voice was soft, tentative. "I have to tell you a few things. One bad thing, and one...one really good thing. Which one would you like to hear first?"

"It's Finn," he said finally. "He's... Finn's dead."
no subject
"Wh-what?" Blaine asked, not even sure where to begin with this news. It was shocking, to the point that his brain wasn't processing it.

So many questions came into his mind about the how, the why, the when, but the weight of the idea that Finn was gone was so heavy on him that he was speechless. Back home people didn't get to come back.
Blaine wasn't sure what he could say or do, or even how to start to process the shock that was settling over him. Instead, he reached out and took Kurt's hand.

He squeezed Blaine's hand, holding it in silence for a while. He wanted Blaine to know that he was there for him, to help him through his grief as well. After all, Blaine's was fresh, like a new stab wound.

"I'm sorry you've been dealing with that all alone since you got back," he added after taking a moment to swallow and breathe..

"So," he said softly, turning his head to gently nose against Blaine's hair. "Want to know the good thing now?"

Still, it was now or never. Kurt tilted his head a little, giving Blaine a playful smile.
"So," he teased. "If you ever asked me to marry you, how would you do it?"
no subject
"Oh... well," Blaine didn't really have to think about it that long. He had considered the possibility often enough. "Something really grand. You deserve to have a statement made about who you are. I'd probably have everyone there, and I'd find a way to make it special."

"And you did... Didn't you? Why else would you tell me?" Kurt wasn't the vindictive sort to bring it up otherwise. He wasn't as dumb as Blaine could be.

And then he couldn't hold it back anymore. He'd been trying to for way too long, even before his second arrival here. Without another moment's hesitation he swooped in, pressing his lips against Blaine's.

All the grief and sadness between them met in the middle, crushed between their bodies, annihilated by the force of their love. Kurt wanted it all to crumble, so he pressed as close to Blaine as he could, trying to soothe as well as be soothed, to heal and be healed at the same time.

As they kissed he let his hands press into Kurt's back. When they had to pull back to breathe, he gasped a bit. "I missed you so much," he said quietly. And then, grinning, "I can't believe we're going to get married."

He stroked Kurt's back lightly. "And... Um... I should probably work on asking you a question too. Otherwise the other thing won't feel real either..."

He stroked his hand over Blaine's chest, feeling the taut muscles beneath his shirt. "And I wouldn't mind if you asked again. I'm not sure if I want the whole Capitol knowing about us just yet, though..."

"Get down on one knee, silly!" he chirped, feeling just as elated and nervous as he had when Blaine had asked him that same question at Dalton.

"You know, you're the love of my life, Kurt. I can't imagine spending the rest of my life or the next without you. Will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?" he asked, rambling a bit off the top of his head as he looked up at Kurt.
no subject
"Yes," said Kurt with another bright laugh. "Of course. Now get back up here."
no subject
"Was the ring nice?" he asked. "I'm sorry I don't have one here... Maybe I can make one?"

He moved to recline on the bed, pulling Blaine down with him.

"We're here now. We're together. And nothing will break us apart this time."

"I love you so much."

He slid a little closer, needing Blaine's arms completely around him, needing to hear his heartbeat. He wanted to stow away every memory, lock it inside his heart for the next arena. Maybe this time he could survive.

Blaine nodded as he wrapped around Kurt. "For as long as you need," he promised. "Forever, if we need to."
