Every floor public space is dripping with holiday decorations.

The decorations are themed, ridiculously so. Every surface is covered, and a table sits proudly full of holiday treats and spirits, kept stocked constantly by the avoxes. Cheerful music plays softly throughout the whole building, though luckily for everyone the Capitol doesn't really know what Christmas carols are.

Those with secret santa's have a cheery, passive-aggressive note reminding them not to disappoint anyone and ruin their holiday.

Those that have expressed a want for some object from home will find a box on their bed sometime during the day, with a merry holiday greeting from Cruentus. Inside they will find the object of their desire, or something similar, crafted from their words.

In blown glass. Pretty, decorative, utterly useless.

Bert's guns, Punchy's goggles, Sigma's music box, Maximus' leg, Mindy's knife, Terezi's dragon cane...on and on, as many gifts as Creuntus could find out. Those that were with them when they were pulled are more perfect replicas, those that they have just described obviously have an artistic touch to them.

"Um..." She read some more and looked in the box again, pulling out some more ropes. "We do be having one of these, and the knot do be needing to be being at zero, and every time you do be winning you do be moving it up, and when it do be being at the other end you do be winning the game."

"Cool!" He checked the knot on his end. It was where it needed to be to start.

"Okay then, so the first one do be being." She turned over the card, "This one. We do be starting now?"

"Yeah, go." He frowned as he looked the card over before carefully replicating the knot. It's not even close to perfect, anyone could get it untied without hardly trying, but it's recognizable.

Pruna is doing a much better job, she's quite good at knots and this is one she knows. She ties it without even having to copy and quickly checks it is the same one.

"Done!"

She's definitely done first. Kevin... actually doesn't mind. But he does have a question. "How did you make it work right?"

She looked at his, "Well it do be needing to be being tighter." She wrinkled her nose, "Be using a smaller bit of rope."

"Well, I'm not cutting your game up." He was pretty sure she wouldn't want that.

She made an exasperated noise. "No I did be meaning." She put her fingers on his, "Be putting your fingers closer together, so there do be being less rope between them."

"Oh." He tried it again the way she showed him. It worked much better but still needed practice. "Cool!"

[knifewithnoname]

"Yes, like that. You do be getting the hang of it!" She grinned, "I did be winning though." She moved the knot one point up with a grin.

"Yeah. So, next one?"

[knifewithnoname]

"Okay," She turned the next card over. "Ready?" The sand clock went over next and she got to work.

He went to work, too. This time went a lot better. Using less of the rope actually helped him tie the knot faster.

"Done!" She checked her knot against the card, "Did that be being easier?"

"Yeah, a lot." He grinned. "Thanks!"

"See, I do be being a good teacher." She grinned, "I did still be winning though." She stuck her tongue out at him.

"Yeah, you are." He stuck his tongue out back. "So I bet you won't win next time!"

"I do be betting I will be being!" She reached out for the sand clock and the next card. "Be being ready!"

"I'm ready!" He nodded, holding the rope eagerly.

[knifewithnoname]

"Okay!" She turned over the card and the sand clock, grabbing her rope to tie the knot.

This one was pretty easy. He tightened it and grinned. "Beat you."

Pruna was a second behind him and glared at him. "You will no be beating me again!" She pointed her finger at him, annoyed.

"Bet I will!" he retorted with a grin. That could be the only easy knot in the game. Besides, she was still ahead of him.

"Be being ready!" Her eyes flashed with annoyance as she turned over another card and the sand timer, scrambling for the rope to tie the knot faster than Kevin.
