Really, Kankri found the entire concept of this place absolutely deplorable. He would have no part of it. But until he could find some way to escape his captors, it wouldn't hurt to familiarize himself with the layout of the place. And also to find something to eat, he was quite famished at the moment.

He started in the suite of the district he'd been assigned and herded to like cattle, of course, but soon enough he was meandering all through the building, taking note of its occupants and features with various degrees of disapproval. He wasn't entirely sure of how to approach anyone yet, but he supposed it wouldn't hurt to try for the sake of information.

Kankri huffs softly. "I did, and I am doing so," he replies. "It's not as if I intend to participate in such a grotesque spectacle. Even if I did, I'm hardly in any condition to do violence to anyone.

Well," he continues, "Cronus Ampora is of the violet caste. He...tries. But he's so focused on his own royal status that I don't particularly enjoy his company. And anyway, he attempts to pressure everyone into doing what he wants, so he tends to not be very good company. Particularly now that we've all begun to reach sexual maturity." He scowls.

"And Meenah Peixes is the heir apparent. She doesn't particularly want to be, which I find laudable, so she exiled herself to one of our moons. Apparently she was exploring some ruins there when she found what the game we've been stuck in is based on. She's violent and impulsive, but she never listens to any reprimands." He shrugs slightly.

"As for yourself..." Gosh, this is weird to explain details that Kurloz should already know. "Well, you've always been gentle with everyone, although the few times I saw you defending yourself and others from the various hazards we're subjected to, it was somewhat alarming. As I mentioned before, Meulin went deaf. From what I understand, the two of you were resting together when you had a particularly bad nightmare, as of course we often do. You screamed so loudly that it deafened her. After that, you sewed your lips together in penance and to ensure it wouldn't be repeated. Which, by the way, I appreciate the sentiment but it was rather a grotesque sight, so I'm quite glad you've been sensible enough not to continue in that vein. You and she often communicate in a language of gestures and shapes made with your arms or hands."

Cronus Ampora, The Orphaner Dualscar, irritating as he was and would be. Meenah Peixes, Her Imperious Condescension, never wanting to be empress? Apparently not motherfucking that much. He continues to scowl through their tales, finding only more reason to dislike them and their whole lot.

He's ready to laugh at being called "gentle" because that, surely, was a joke. The Vantas was kidding him.

You screamed so loudly that it deafened her. After that, you sewed your lips together.

He reels around before Kankri and stops, hands held out in front. "HOLD THE FUCK UP, WHAT? I did motherfucking what?" He can't comment on Kankri's disgust because in that moment he finds himself temporarily speechless.

"You stitched your mouth shut, effectively rendering yourself mute, so that you couldn't do such harm again," Kankri says again, a bit more slowly this time. "And then learned to communicate without speaking."

He stares.

Then takes a steps back and stares some more.

He touches his lips, and imagines feeling thread there, holes in the flesh where needle pierced through and bled him. He tries to imagine forcing his fangs back and never opening his mouth or speaking a word.

He shakes his head roughly.

"YOU MAKE TO TELL UNTO ME, I WAS NO DAMN DIFFERENT... than these motherfucking tongue-cut slaving malefactors what be about here?" He looks back at Kankri with disbelief in his face and his voice. "FOR HER?!" This makes no sense. Not a lick of it. "Motherfucker everyone all gets daymares. I GET THEM THE FUCK STILL, THERE AIN'T NO MOTHERFUCKING WAY ALL THAT WOULD--" A vision. He straightens with the revelation. That was it. "It was vision wasn't it? A VISION IT WAS ALL LIKE AT TO BE, THAT'S WHY! There ain't no other reason, there couldn't motherfucking be. DEAFENING MOTHERFUCKERS?! How in Messiahs' names does one all do that with a scream?" They couldn't. Probably. Right? "WHAT OF MITUNA, WAS HE UNHARMED? What happened to everyone the fuck else?"

Oh dear, he's been set off again. Kankri scoots away ever so slightly.

"From what I understand it was something to do with your...clown religion, yes. And you're already being rather loud right now," he says, with a touch of reproach. "Mituna is the same as he ever was, Meulin was the only one there when...it happened."

Are his eyes deceiving him?

The Psiioniic slows, staring at the two. He had been on his way to visit Kurloz, to spend time with his moirail now that he had cleared out most of the tribbles that had taken over his room. (Now he could actually see his floor, it was great.)

He's not that close, but there's no mistaking the nubby horns, and...Why is Kurloz speaking to a Vantas? A mysterious third Vantas, because he's not old enough to be the Sufferer, and he's not young enough to be Karkat. So who the hell is he?

He stops near Kurloz, reaching out for his moirail before shooting a dirty look to Kankri. "What the fuck are you?"

The Initiate looks up, over to see his Moirail. His Moirail.

"HELMSMAN! Brother!" He calls, relief in his voice. He goes to him and grasps his hand and lifts it, pressing his lips to the top of it. He quietly checks him over, just to be sure, as if Kankri might be lying on him being the same, as if it could somehow carry over to the Helmsman too. Once he's sure, still staying close to the Helmsman's side, he turns back to Kankri, expression changing back to the unpleasant just as quickly.

"WHERE YOU AWARE, HELMSMAN," He says, "THAT WE HAD LIVES BEFORE OUR MOTHERFUCKING OWN? Apparently, we up and do, and this one is of it. KANKRI VANTAS." The Helmsman should be able to quickly uncover his unhappiness in that.

Kankri crosses his arms, a frown tugging at his mouth. "I don't appreciate your implication that I'm not a troll," he tells Mituna, as Kurloz quickly checks his moirail over and gives him brazen pale affection.

Kurloz addressed Mituna - Kankri doesn't know why he's going by "Helmsman," but this is very obviously Mituna with a few more sweeps - but the question, accusatory as it is, seems to be aimed at him. "You asked me to tell you, and I did," he tells the indigo now. "I can't understand why you seem so unhappy with me."

This is getting more and more confusing. He stiffens at his title, but he doesn't say anything to that. He...can live with it, even if it's strange to hear Kurloz call people.

He squeezes his hand, and musters up his most unimpressed look.

"You could be a halluthination, for all I know." And now he's just confused. What other sort of life? That makes no sense. "And I wathn't aware of anything like that. Thhould I be contherned?"

The Initiate feels him stiffen and glances over, brief concern flashing across his face. He looks back to Kankri.

"I DID DEMAND TELL AND TELL YOU DID, CORRECT. That don't mean I gotta be happy with what all was up and told. WITH WHAT ALL WAS WITHHELD UNTIL THE NOW. Especially goddamn considering that which it consists the fuck of." And, unfortunately for Kankri, it was natural state for him to be unhappy with a Vantas. He shakes his head.

"THE PYROPE KNEW. A little at least," He says to Mituna. "I AIN'T SURE WHO ALL THE FUCK ELSE MIGHT. She mentioned a before, but she didn't motherfucking up and say at... we were part of whatever all shit is they're up in." He growls. "TWELVE COLLECTIVE, THAT RIGHT, VANTAS? Twelve same as the next lot, our descendents." More to Mituna, he adds, "I DON'T LIKE WHAT ALL THIS IMPLIES, THEM PULLING THINGS AT FROM THIS WHAT SHOULDN'T EXIST. I don't like for how all they might use that on our lot here. THEY'RE SENDING MESSAGES THEY UP AND ARE."
