Who| Kankri Vantas & OPEN
What| Settling in, meeting new people
Where| District 5 apartments at first, then generally exploring around the Tributes' area
When| Just after his arrival, some days after Enjolras' crowning
Warnings/Notes| Warning for Kankri being his annoying self, pretty much. Also, his first chronological threads will be with Claudia and the Initiate, but beyond that timing will pretty much be in the order of tagging.
Really, Kankri found the entire concept of this place absolutely deplorable. He would have no part of it. But until he could find some way to escape his captors, it wouldn't hurt to familiarize himself with the layout of the place. And also to find something to eat, he was quite famished at the moment.
He started in the suite of the district he'd been assigned and herded to like cattle, of course, but soon enough he was meandering all through the building, taking note of its occupants and features with various degrees of disapproval. He wasn't entirely sure of how to approach anyone yet, but he supposed it wouldn't hurt to try for the sake of information.

Kankri blinks. "But I'm not from Alternia," he replies. "Is it some sort of colony world? I know there were some before, even if most of the population stayed on Beforus."

She sniffs at him again, then slowly starts to circle him, taking him in better.
"You're from the other Sgrub session. The one before ours." She doesn't say it as a question so much as a confirmation. "There is no Alternia for you. Not yet. In which case, I guess that makes me Latula's ancestor--from your point of view."
Latula. Latula, Latula, Latula. She is never not going to be weirded out by saying that name, now that she knows who it belongs to.

He looks at her with some interest. So she's from the world they're going to create? "Well, I don't know anything of Alternia, but I suppose I can take your story on faith," he says after a moment. "Ah. Is there some strange perfume on me, or some such?"

"There might as well be. You smell like sweet cherry cough syrup underneath that asphalt grey skin. Strictly a Vantas flavor, no knock-offs allowed."
no subject
"I'm not entirely clear on what you mean. I'm just surprised that you seem to be smelling me so...ah, enthusiastically. Latula has no sense of smell at all."

"We could get someone with no tongue and someone with no ears, and we'll be a disability quartet. Or even someone with no skin, but that might be a bit much. People will think we're milking it."
no subject
"Well," he says awkwardly, "if it helps, two of my other friends are deaf and mute, so it would be feasible." How does he do joke???

"I'll have to meet them, you know. To assess their level of disability. Only the most functionally disabled would be allowed to join our group. They would also have to pass standard levels of coolness. We're going to be the best of the best, after all!"
no subject
Welp, he went and made it all serious and himself sad. Oops.

"I don't know. Meenah probably would. She seemed feisty to me." Terezi grins and shrugs at that, enjoying her little namedrop--one of the few she actually knows. "I bet she could impale someone from several yards away."
