Who | Homura, OPEN
What | Homura has reunited with Madoka. Sort of.
Where | Anywhere and everywhere.
When| The days before the Crowning.
Warnings/Notes| Adorable.
After receiving her blood moneyreally, what else could it be called?, the first thing Homura did was to go out. And go out she did, all the way to the nearest pet store.
The owners were, of course, very surprised to see such a hard, cool girl in their store, but took great pains to find something that could please her. However, the dozens of specimens they showed didn't seem impressive to her. Didn't call to her. That is, until she saw one attendant carry out a box.
"What's in there."
"Oh," The pet store owner waved at the box dismissively as Homura glanced into it. "That was a mistake. A dwarf. Not what the buyer requested. We're taking it to the pound today. Its really quite a sha--"
"I'll take it."
The owner looked up abruptly at Homura's words. The girl looked back at the owner, her expression unchanged.
"How much will you take for it."
"This...?" The pet owner looked shocked. "But...this little monster is practically worthless! Why would you-"
"Then you won't object to giving it to me for free." Suddenly, the "little monster" was in Homura's hands. "Is that correct?"
"...Well, I..."
"Its fine." Freeing up one of her hands, Homura flipped her hair casually. "I suppose I should at least buy something from you, for your generosity."
--
A half hour later, it was done. A small pink mixed cat with a rather unusual expression on its face - and two little red bows behind its ears - was hiding in Homura's jacket, hair, hands, letting out an asthmatic meow. Or, well, wherever it might have popped up on Homura's person as she walked, sat, or simply went.
Homura, for her part, seemed content enough with it. Indeed, there might have been the smallest, slightest ghost of a smile on her face every time she looked down at it.
She named it Madoka.

She named it Madoka.

"Is that a kitty in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?" She teased.
no subject
"Its my cat."
no subject
"Aww, hello there little kitty! Aren't you just the prettiest little girl?" her voice took a softer less abrasive tone to it as she spoke to the cat as affectionately as if it were her own.
no subject
After a moment, the cat nuzzled the finger, closing her eyes as she did.
no subject
"What's her name?" She wondered, well aware that she wasn't one of Homura's favorite people.
Which of course was why she was talking to her.
no subject
"Her name is Madoka."
no subject
"You do seem like the type for a cat. It suits you." She remarked with a cheerful smile.
no subject
"They were going to put her down." Homura's hand went to gently rub the kitten's head. "Her stipulated genetic alterations had been faulty so her intended owners rejected her. But, once I saw her, I couldn't allow that to happen."
no subject
"Oh you poor baby!" Harley mewed continuing to wiggle the thread near her. "Is she gonna be OK? The genetic whozits aren't gonna like...break down or mutate are they?"
no subject
no subject
"Well that's good to hear. I mean...you figure with all the power the Capitol has they should be able to handle a little veterinary care. Who's gonna look after her while you're in the arena?"
no subject
"I'm not sure yet." Homura casually flipped her hair. "One of the Mentors, hopefully. I intend to ask when I return."
no subject
"You did strike me as a cat person." She added, "Alot like someone I knew back home. You don't happen to be in love with a superhero who's completely dedicated to justice and being a symbol of hope for a whole city are ya?" She teased playfully thinking back to the last conversation she and Selina had shared before...alot of unpleasantness.
no subject
"No," she replied, speaking carefully. "Its not like that at all."
no subject
"Did I hit a nerve? I was just kidding around...see back home my friend who is a crazy cat lady? She's in love with this superhero who's a real stiff."
no subject
no subject
"If you care about her though, that makes her very special. Even if the rest of the world can't see how wonderful she is...she means the world to you right?"
no subject
"Why are you asking me these things, in a place like this?"
no subject
"Well, I wanna get to know you! But if you wanna go somewhere more private I'm cool!" She reasoned. Was it really so strange? Had she lost touch with what "Normal" people talked about?
Well, if she had that wouldn't be unusual.

no subject
"After all, even security guards don't wanna hear what goes on in there. We go find ourselves a little dive bar bathroom to chit chat and get to know each other. Maybe then you won't have to be all one woman against the world next arena."
Desperately extending the offer of friendship as only Harley Quinn could without simply picking her up and carrying her off.
no subject
"You're wrong. Its not the world I'm against."
Though really, she may as well have been.no subject
"Well I've been wrong before. But that doesn't change my opinion about you needing a pal. A confident. An amigo...preferably one that has less body hair and will be in the arena...no offense Madoka."
no subject
"Do you really think its a wise move?"
no subject
"Why wouldn't it be? Friends are always good to have by your side. Especially when you're dying."
no subject
"Being my friend...you wouldn't be doing yourself any good."
no subject
"Living here isn't doing me any good. Being crazy and having no sense of self preservation isn't helping much either. But what I do know is you having someone you can take advantage of would be doing you some good."
no subject
"We can be allies, to begin with. But a friendship, for now...its not something I am ready for in this place."
no subject
"Alright, I can be patient and persistent. Irritatingly so. But if there's anything I can do to win you over you just say the word!" She encouraged with hope and optimism in her eyes.
Because what Harley wanted, she worked very hard for.
no subject
"How old is she?"
