show me the side streets in your life

Who| The Psiioniic and whoever wants a free tribble (plus Terezi and Karkat)
What| The Psiioniic might have forgotten that rule about not feeding tribbles. Plus he's going to have some serious conversations with some of the younger trolls that might actually turn out terrible and not all that serious.
Where| Various places around the tribute tower. Take your pick!
When| The last week of the arena.
Warnings/Notes| Possible mentions of: slavery, body horror, torture, Psii being a raging asshole.

option 1: free tribbles!

The Psiioniic had made a grave mistake. He vaguely remembered the post on the network about the tribbles that one...random Capitolite had, but it seemed like it had taken place perigees ago and he had forgotten most of what that woman had said about the tribbles she was pawning off.

It wasn't like he had fed it on purpose. He just...didn't often finish his meals, and maybe he should have been more concerned about leaving food out in his room. He refused to let Avoxes clean his room, and after being brought back into the arena he couldn't will himself to waste his energy cleaning up every single today. Okay, so it was pretty gross, and he hated it, but...

Well.

It was too late now.

Now he had more tribbles than he could feasibly keep, and he was wandering the tower, silently shoving a tribble into the hands of anyone he passed. Sure, they could by their own, and sure, maybe they didn't want one, but he didn't care.

Option 2: Shut up Vantas

He shouldn't be doing this. He really, really shouldn't be doing this. He...He had to reason to approach Karkat, and he knew that talking with the younger Vantas probably wouldn't accomplish anything.

He wasn't quite sure he really wanted to talk to him in the first place.

But he felt compelled, and he had heard whispers of what Karkat thought of him - not that it was hard for him to realize how much the younger Vantas hated him. He wasn't sure if it was because of him and the Signless (and that was quite frankly none of Karkat's business, and he probably had only horribly biased accounts of their prior relationship anyways), or because of the Psiioniic himself, or because of his moiraillegiance with the Initiate (which was, again, none of his business, and the Psiioniic was quite simply sick of people being so judgemental of his moirail). Whatever the reason Karkat hated him, he felt like he should at least...Try to get some level of understanding with the younger troll. They didn't have to like each other, but he'd at least like to be in control of the reason why the mutant hated him.

So he shuffles into District 1's suites, hoping Karkat's there and cornering him as soon as he sees the boy.

"We need to talk."

Option 3: Can't you see that you're tearing me apart?

Pyrope. The one troll he's not sure how he feels about. She's irritating, but he doesn't loathe her like he loathes the Signless or Karkat or the Disciple, and he doesn't like her like he likes the Initiate, and he doesn't tolerate her the way he tolerates Cuthbert. She's not like all of the other tributes who are simply there, who are simply people that he needs to cut himself off from to prevent things going terribly wrong in the Arena. Maybe it's because they're the same species, or maybe it's from the way Terezi has quietly inserted herself in his life. He feels like he can't walk two feet without Pyrope being there.

He feels compelled to talk to her. And now, with the tribble he got from her having laid so many babies, and those babies having babies, he feels he has a proper excuse. So he wanders up to the third floor, wordlessly holding the tribbles in his hands up to her nose. Yeah, that's how you start these things.

"And how the hell did you manage that...? I didn't even know they could breed on their own." She knew they breeded of course, but most species generally require more than one of the species to do anything like reproduce. This doesn't make as sense.

He's still holding them out at her, and it finally occurs to her that maybe he's not just trying to show her.

"Uh-uh. I am not taking them. You hatched this mess yourself."

Terezi claims no responsibility for the fuzzy multiplication problems that the Psiionic has landed himself in.

"Why does everyone think that giving these fluffballs away as peace offerings is a good idea?" She has to wonder out loud because otherwise, how is anyone going to answer her? She certainly doesn't know of an answer to her own question.

"...Besides, why do you need to give me one? I wasn't aware that there was a strict need for peace between us."

"Oh." Terezi seems genuinely surprised by that. She gives the tribbles another cursory sniff, considering them. She doesn't want to stiff his offering, but she's still not entirely sure what it's for.

"Judging me, how?"

Terezi blinks. And then she smiles--not mocking or derisive, but maybe a little amused at his expense. "It's okay. You wouldn't be the first person to think that. Or the last, probably."

Actually, the most recent person to think that was Karkat, but she decides not to point that out. Instead, she continues with a little less amusement: "You are a lot like Sollux for the record! But I'm not using you as a replacement. You're your own person, and you deserve to be treated like an individual. Not like some collective Captor hivemind."
