The advertisements hit hard today. Tune in at 6 o'clock, you won't want to miss this special! Everywhere a person could look, it was there, and the city was clearly excited for whatever this mystery event was.

As if that wasn't enough, escorts were encouraging Tributes to be in the commons, and a small feast of finger foods was laid out along one wall, extra avoxes available for drinks.

And, as promised, at 6 pm sharp, all the TVs flickered to the ever flashy Caesar, on an equally flashy tabloid-tastick reality style "interview" of the tributes. All the TVs in the common area light up with it, as well as the Districts suites, even if the TV had been off before.

Sandy gaped at the reports and groaned like she was I'll burying her face in her hands.

"And now the Trolls think I hate them. Great. I'm gonna get eaten."

Oddly enough this did not spoil her appetite. She promptly ordered some fruit to calm herself.

"They have to know that all of that was edited," Blaine pointed out when he overhear her comment. "Right?"

"Titus!!" At this, the booming voice of Jack Atlas could be heard across the room. "YOU SAW IT! ALL OF THE GREY-SKINNED TRIBUTES!! THEY EAT PEOPLE!! JUST LIKE TITUS!! WHY AREN'T THEY MUZZLED LIKE THE ZOMBIE!?"

Judging by the reaction of the Escorts he was speaking to, the answer would be pretty obvious when it came to some people.

Blaine flinches at the yelling and then sort of moves back from the sound of Jack's loud voice. Not to mention the reminder that there are creatures here that would literally eat him alive.

Sandy gave the shouting man a dry look before looking back to Blaine. "With my luck it won't matter. I almost got eaten by Javert last time."

"It seems like they're offended by the implication," Blaine pointed out, looking over at some of the trolls. "So I don't think they'll actually eat you."

Sandy peered in that direction and let out a sigh of relief.

"This is probably because I keep calling the games murder." She muttered.

Blaine frowned and nodded. "Yeah," he said. "You should be careful about that stuff." Then he winced a bit, realizing how pitiful that sounded. "I mean, I don't want you to end up hurt even more."

Sandy gave him a tilted look.

"How much worse can it get? Next time I get murdered they don't wake me up? That'd be a relief after all this."

It was probably unsettling to hear her be so casual about the thought of dieing after only two arenas.

"Get eaten?" Parker's not looking at Sandy (though she speaks to her only because she recognizes her) but rather looking at the screen, head tilted over, as if another way of viewing the screen will make it less weird.

Yes, even Parker thinks that broadcast was weird.

"Well if you didn't notice maybe they didn't." Sandy reasoned looking up at the older woman with a flicker of recognition in her eyes.

"I wonder if they were setting me up..." She sighed laying back on one of the Sofia's listlessly."

"They are. Setting me up too. Called people here stupid. Not tributes."

It would be easier to win if they were stupid.

"When I said "bite me" I was saying it to the interviewer." She explained looking relieved. Perhaps because Parker was between her and some of the trolls on the other side of the room.

"Also, what's the big deal showing me dead like that? How many times can you look at a kid with a broken neck?" Though she tried to sound stern her eyes betrayed her. It had shaken her seeing it again.

"Didn't think you wanted to be nommed on." Even that is just too odd for Parker.

"People here like that. Unless it's them." Crossing her arms, she looks back at the others around.

"Sick."

"How could they have gotten this way?" Sandy wondered out loud not for the first time. "My handler lady tells me there was war...and suffering. Death. And so this system stops it. But I don't understand how."

Probably because the larger pieces of the puzzle rested with how each of the districts was treated. And she hasn't been allowed to travel yet.

"It's an excuse." Parker feels like she's channeling Nate. "Let this be an excuse. Better us than them."

"Oh good. Well glad I can freakin' help." Sandy grumbled folding her arms across her chest. Then her shoulders slumped again as her resolve faltered.

"This place is a step up from where I came from, but the drawbacks are still pretty damn big."

"I will be killing anyone who do be trying to eat you." It's what allies did. She reached over to nab some of Sandy's fruit.

Sandy grinned sheepishly, "Thanks, I'll do the same for you." Even if she had no real experience in killing people. Just getting them killed.

"With a sigh she leaned back in her seat. "Good to know the rest of the public still thinks of us as helpless kids. Maybe they'll give us more stuff."

"Thank you." She shrugged, "I would be hoping so, that do be the only reason it can be good that they do be thinking us weak."

"Well..." Sandy looked thoughtful, "it could help us take the other tributes off guard. I mean anyone who's been watching me as seen pretty much all I'm good at is grabbing stuff and running. So they might let their guard down you know?"

She hoped. Almost as much as she secretly hoped she wouldn't be given the opportunity to kill anyone she knew.

"Hopefully they will be." She shrugged, even if Sandy didn't want to kill it could still work, Sandy could get them to let their guard down and Pruna could kill them, she saw no problem with that.

"I do be thinking everyone do be being mad at that." She pointed towards the program.

"Everyone except the winner." She agreed and followed her gaze.

"This is a reminder. We play the game, they make us look better. We screw around they make it harder." She chomped onto and apple chewing it up moodily.

"Well we can be harder then that."

She frowned and nodded, so the people who had looked brave and strong on here were people the Capitol liked.

"That do be being good." She muttered, "It do be meaning that they do be caring." About what they thought. They couldn't be so powerful if they had to lie and fight back just because people didn't like them.

"We can be better and stronger than them."

"Heh...yeah I guess I never thought about that." Pruna had a good point and it actually gave Sandy's dour mood a kick.

"If they're going out of their way to mess with us, that must mean we're doing something to irritate them. Which means if we do it more that could be causing them problems." Another completely unfounded guess from Sandy.
