she got legs
Who| Susannah and OPEN
What| Susannah's got some mechanical legs
Where| all over the Capitol!
When| Oh, starting from yesterday, probably, and going up to the Crowning.
Warnings/Notes| Ian C, Eddie, and Felicity will all have closed threads, but feel free to make your own underneath theirs
Eight deaths caused by her hands (including her own) equaled eight envelopes of killmoney. Perhaps it was a bit callous for her to turn around and use it as a downpayment on robot legs, but she wasn't a mentor like Maximus. She couldn't just get them for free. And really, she was lucky to find someone willing to craft and fit them for that little upfront--although she was going to be a walking advertisement for their product now, as well as an actual advertisement in a couple days. It was better than to have to beg the rest of the money from a sponsor--she'd heard some things about what they expected in return.
She was glad, now, that she'd asked Maximus how it felt to use his mechanical leg. It had prepared her.
So now here she is, walking around on a pair of porcelain robot legs with blue detailing, wearing a skirt just far enough past her knees in length for her to really show them off. And she's definitely looking to show them off.
Wheelchair tribute is no more--Susannah's got legs and she (mostly) knows how to use them!

Re: Ian C
She looks the tribute--or at least she assumes he is, she thinks he's one of Eddie's--up and down. Her eyes keep going back to his hair, which is styled in a way she really hasn't seen much of since she left New York.
Interesting.

His grin was wide as she walked up, reaching out to take her hand and leading her in a spin. Stepping back, he leaned down, looking at them a little closer.
"They're beautiful, baby. You like them?"

His grin was a bit more subdued at that. He knew some people that would be less than happy to see him out and about with a tribute.
But, well...fuck em.
Taking the edge of her skirt, he went to flick it up. To get a better look at her legs. Of course.

Susannah makes a clucking sound with her tongue. "In the bedroom, Mister." Her voice, however, is light and teasing.

Felicity
--only to bump into another customer as she does so.
"Sorry 'bout that," she apologizes, glancing at the woman she bumped into. Odd. She looks familiar.
no subject
"Oh, no, my apologies." The blonde practically chirped with her bright English accent. It was moments like these when she wished she still looked like a little girl instead of a woman. Children, though she despised them, always seemed to get away with gawking at people. "I wasn't paying attention."

She takes a moment to study Felicity's face. Definitely familiar, even if she can't connect it to a name. And with that accent... "You're a tribute, aren't you? So am I. Susannah Dean, Dee Ten."
no subject
"Yes, I am." She recovered enough to smile cordially. "I'm Felicity Worthington, from District Two. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

When he'd had mechanical legs of his own, Albert had done all he could to hide them, granted his had been blatantly metallic and an obvious outward sign of how he no longer had fit the basic definition of 'human' given that it wasn't just his legs that had been replaced. Now that he has a fully human body again, he'd reacted similarly. The first thing he'd done back on Mocawa was go sunbathing in a speedo and he still gets a happy thrill going for his morning run on the training center treadmill in shorts that instead of revealing the hinged casings for his knee-mounted missile launchers now just show off well muscled legs.
It's simultaneously jarring and uplifting to see someone so proud of a mechanical enhancement, given his history, and pardon him if he can't help but stare a little as Susannah sashays past him on the street.

He's not sure what to say about it. Despite his own feelings on cybernetics, he can put himself in her shoes. She couldn't walk without these legs, she's obviously happy, healthy, nothing against her will. Who is he to judge in the slightest? "Congratulations."

Then, he does a double take. He turns to look again, pulling his glasses off to get a better look (because that is how it works for scientists: glasses are completely necessary unless what you are looking at is surprising, in which case you see more clearly when you dramatically take them off).
"Mrs. Dean?" he asks, eyes wide with surprise. "That's you, isn't it?"
no subject
(She assumes the glasses whipping is because he's farsighted.)

"What a remarkable piece of technology," he says. "Would you mind if I took a closer look?"
no subject
Sorry, Carlos, but the way you're looking at her... although it's not really at her, is it? Just her legs.
