He didn't even notice her at first - her entrance so quick and quiet and his eyes and his mind firmly elsewhere, tumbling in dark spaces he'd managed to escape months ago - now returned with a force.
It wasn't until he caught movement out of the corner of his eye that he realised anyone else was there at all - and he stiffened abruptly. He only relaxed when he noticed just how young his visitor was.
