The world around her has shrunk so small, it's easy to believe that the universe consists only of this one, single room. The Capitol, the crowds, the Games, all the rest of Panem... it was so far away that it might well not even exist. It was just him and her. Here and now. Her hair a lovely mess against the feather-soft pillows and his hands warm on her skin. And for a rare moment, she closes her eyes not to escape, but to savor. But she doesn't keep them closed long. Why would she, with Finnick so near. So close. So immediate, that the only thing she sees is him.

But isn't that how it always is?

She shifts beneath him, if ever so slightly. He's so close, but he could be closer. Her hands slip from his neck and slide down his torso. The jacket of his suit and the shirt he has buttoned up to his collarbone make finding his skin difficult, but she slips her hands beneath the jacket and wraps her small arms around him, pulling them together.
