Everyone needs friends.

Who: Diana and the grues.
What: That dinner Diana and Some planned like months ago.
Where: The Training Center Commons, then the Speakeasy.
When: After sunset.
Warnings: Two of the three are maneaters.

Talking Ele into this had felt like an accomplishment. It would be all-new for her, all of it. He had carefully avoided calling it 'going out for dinner,' because it wasn't, for them. There would be water, and for politeness's sake, he would order them a little plate of pork, but that wasn't food. In fact, he'd cautioned Ele about eating very much of it - his own experimentation with the meats they had available had gone badly.

But that was all ahead of them. Now, he was simply waiting anxiously on the ground floor of the Training Center for Diana and Ele both to join him. And trying to keep his mind off worst-case scenarios. Ele was not going to try to eat Diana in the middle of a crowd.

Ele arrives first. As Some predicted, they had not allowed her to take the stairs since her arrival. The grue still has six limbs braced against the walls of the elevator when it opens. She hurries out of it, afraid the doors will close again before she gets the chance, and heads towards Some. "I do not like elevators." She says irritably as she arrives at his side.

Diana had some similar concerns herself as she entered the room they'd arranged to meet in, though she was more concerned with Some's friend losing control and hurting a bystander rather than herself. She could only hope that the Capitol had indulged their cautious nature and not their arrogance in bringing the new Grue over, that they wouldn't risk their Citizens if nothing else.

But these concerns didn't show, at this point she could only trust that Some would know if something was going wrong before it was too late. She spotted Some easily across the room and another Grue that she could only assume was the new arrival. "I hope I'm not late," she said as she reached them.

Even more sorry.

Watching the new human approach warily, Ele only broke her gaze to follow Some's eyes to the clock, wondering what it was and why he'd looked at it. "Hello." She said tersely, as she looked back to his friend.

"Hello?" Diana ventured, assuming that the words she couldn't understand were introductions. "It's lovely to meet you Ele, and to see you again, Some." She happily took Some's hand to squeeze in greeting, her polite smile widening when she met his gaze, then held out a hand to Ele, in case she wanted to do the same.
