He dropped the food he had been holding up, back onto his plate and put down his fork.

"Yeah." He tried to smile, failed a bit. "There are."

He took a breath and made himself pick the fork up again.

"Almost nine tenths of these fish are extinct in my world, and though I could probably name them it's a little harder when they're dead."
